JPL7 Posted January 8 Posted January 8 With 7 NFL head coach openings: Ravens Giants Titans Raiders Cardinals Browns Falcons There are some pretty damn good to solid candidates available… Newly fired: Stefanski Harbaugh Super Bowl Winning Retreads: Mike McCarthy Bill Belichek (unlikely hire, but he’s a huge name) Pete Carroll (unlikely hire, but he’s a name) Coordinators: Joe Brady Jesse Minter (Chargers) Klint Kubiak (Seahawks) Brian Flores (Vikings / Dolphins former HC) Kliff Kingsbury (redskins / Cardinals former HC) Robert Salaeh (49ers / Jets former HC) Matt Nagy (Chiefs / Bears former HC) It’s going to be interesting to see how the coaching musical chairs goes. You’d have to think Harbaugh, Stefanski, McCarthy all get hired. Then guys like Kubiak, Flores, and Minter are all but guaranteed to land one if they want it. What do you guys think? 2 Quote
NORWOODS FOOT Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Thanks for laying all of this out. Definitely some interesting candidates this year. Wonder who we’ll replace Brady with if he leaves. And who we’d hire if McDermott gets canned (unlikely, but maybe…). Who would we hire??? Really wonder if any big names from college make the leap? Can’t help but wonder if Cignetti would have success at the NFL level. 1 Quote
Kirby Jackson Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Throw all of your money at Curt Cignetti. I think that holds especially true if your team has talent. Atlanta or especially Baltimore should do that. I’m guessing that the Raiders inquire and plan to have he and Mendoza. 2 Quote

BlueRed Posted January 8 Posted January 8 For no particular reason at all … Mike McCarthy just has the look of the next Titans coach 3 5 Quote

Mr. WEO Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Just now, Kirby Jackson said: I don’t disagree. He has a big contract too. There are only a couple, if any, NFL coaches making more. If you’re a NFL team, you have to make the call. He seems like a guy who would just let it ring. why would he want to deal with a headcase like Lamar? If he had any interest, every team on that list would already know. 1 1 Quote

That swagger and confidence is one of the things that I think the Bills are missing. 3 4 2 1 Quote
Virgil Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I’d take Stefanski and Kubiak here in a heartbeat. 4 1 1 2 Quote

BuffaloBillyG Posted January 8 Posted January 8 (edited) Based on nothing at all and without the benefit of seeing who is interviewing with whom this is my early guesstimate. As always subject to change as more information becomes clear. Also, the firing process may not be over just yet. Pittsburgh, Green Bay and yes even our Bills have had speculation about the job security of the HC if a 1 and done occurs. I wouldn't place any too likely but seeing another coach fired after the Wild Card round wouldn't shock me. I also would be shocked if after 18 years in the same spot if Harbaugh takes a season to refresh and hit next cycle as a hot HC candidate. Raiders- Flores Giants- Stefanski Titans- Nagy Cardinals- Kubiak Falcons-Joe Brady Browns- McDaniel (was Kingsbury) Ravens- Mike LaFleur Edited January 8 by BuffaloBillyG 1 Quote

I don’t care what anyone says, guy make Jordan Love look like a competent QB. He’s a top 5 offensive mind and would love to have him as a HC. Packers won’t make the playoffs if they lose LaFleur Quote

Mike LaFleur is the OC for the Rams. 3 minutes ago, Kirby Jackson said: Appreciate you going on record with your thoughts. 🍻 BTW, Matt Nagy to the Titans is 👨🍳💋 It makes some early sense as their GM has ties to him. 3 Quote

TheFunPolice Posted January 8 Posted January 8 Matt Nagy is terrible. Chiefs offense looked stuck in the mud and also he was bad in Chicago. Totally uninspiring hire. Quote
Royale with Cheese Posted January 8 Posted January 8 There isn’t any hot candidates. Calling it now. Lane Kiffin will be in the NFL within 3 years. Quote
