(I just posted this in the Bama thread but figured it should go here)

Bama got their asses kicked in historic fashion, but I still think they deserved to be in the CFP.  S-h-i-t happens (look at a couple of the Bills’ Super Bowls).  It turns out that either teams are a lot closer than we thought or the committee’s ranking system is whack, as the semifinals are the 1, 5, 6, and 10 seeds.

The nice thing about these matchups is that every team left has a good story or a reason to root for them.  Indiana came out of nowhere and took down the mighty Buckeyes in the B10.  Miami was criticized for even being there, then upset the 7 and 2 seeds.  Ole Miss had their coach leave them on the cusp of the playoffs.  And Oregon just goes about their business and made Texas Tech look silly.

I’m pulling for an Indiana/Ole Miss final, but I’ll really be fine with any matchup.

Dumb is the wrong word.  He jumped for greener pastures.  I’m sure he’s eagerly accepting any credit he’s being given for Ole Miss’ success.  Personally, I think he’s a dick and I’m rooting for huge failure in Baton Rouge, but he isn’t “dumb.”

He walked away from Ole Miss because he didn't think he could win a CFP there, but now they are really close to winning a CFP. He looks like a real moron, today. He could of had it easy at Ole Miss.

He’s a self centered nepo-baby who is 100000000000000000% all about himself.  He will fail at LSU and get some NFL job.  He’ll be around until he is 75 and will suck the whole time.

Abandoning a program you lead while they’re in the midst of their most campaign in forever is a revelation of character.  Of which he has zero.

Any casual CF fan is hopping on the Ole Miss train with Trinidad Chambliss being the little engine that could. Throw in Kiffin’s jumping ship and now you have a legion loving the new darlings of the CFP. Suddenly Indiana isn’t the big story, at least for a week, though they’re a team of destiny I think more fans today than yesterday rather they not win it all.

I was having a debate with some friends about Kiffin.

My argument was that he could be the worst character in college football history. Just decades of phoniness, ego, and no integrity.

My friends said this is just the way it is now.

But even with the new landscape, just the way in which kiffin did this (publicly, in a self-centered way, and during a legit playoff run), makes this seem far worse to me.

I ignored it until I was hearing updates one day while he was "deciding" that he woke up, went to church and was doing yoga with his family.  That part was non-negotiable.

Like what the hell?  Who cares?  Has the guy ever won anything?  So much hype for nothing.

As an IU grad, it is surreal to watch them blow out Alabama in the Rose Bowl.

This is really it. Must feel great! Got some senior ladies and gentlemen from the Hoosier state who could only dream of topping Michigan, Ohio St., Penn St, Wisconsin, and more to travel to Pasadena. No, it’s not the tradition Big Ten vs PAC10 showdown, but demolishing ALA FREAKING BAMA in the Rose Bowl isn’t a bad thing either!

You can't even compare the recruiting prowess of Ole Miss versus LSU historically

Everybody trashing that yet Nick Saban and every single football mentor would tell you to take that job .. Nick told him to take the job

It's something that comes around once in a lifetime

Ole Miss is a good football school, does not have the historic resources and recruiting pool that LSU has

One is a B+ job one is A+ job... Nobody faults regular Joe's for climbing the career ladder

This is something that was obviously hard to do but there's a reason why it's a business

Nothing says Ole Miss is going to be a wagon for 10 years..it's a good football school that lane took to new height recently...LSU has way more big time donors and recruiting pool

People act like Kiffin made this easily.. it certainly was not an easy decision

LSU 3-4 of its last coaches have won national championships.. it's a tremendous program

The timing, whether it be rule driven or business driven sucks. Also the Florida BS and LSU drama caused drama and focus away from a historic year for Ole Miss.

All of this is designed to focus eyes on targets and marketing.  It’s no longer about the student athlete.  NIL is sharing the scam witj the athletes driving the scam-which for years they were “denied” with a free education.

I still root for teams and enjoy colllege football but it’s more and more just entertainment.

Too bad that Ole Miss kicker isn't declaring for the draft... we should get him.

Took the words out of my mouth - get that kid in a Bills uni next year!
