As is usually the case, this one will come down to turnovers. Our 3rd down defense, in my opinion, is this teams biggest weakness. The WR situation is a close second. Lets get a couple of takeaways so I don't have to hear it from my annoying Filth-a-delphia neighbor.

Yep.....I know the Bills D won't totally stop the Philly run game, but if they can at least slow down Barkley and get some timely stops and maybe a turnover or two on 3rd down....it would show that the D might be trending in the right direction just in time for the Playoffs.

Go Bills!!!

I know it’s not a big deal and first drives are scripted but if I see the eagles march down the field and get 7 immediately while our defence looks toothless, I’m going to be sick. I just never have the confidence this D can stop anybody although the do seem to make the plays when it counts

I read somewhere that scripted opening drives in NFL games this year are at 28% TD which makes sense considering it's scripted, visualized, and rehearsed. I haven't checked the Bills defensive numbers but they seem worse than that.

As for the game as a whole, the team that makes the fewest mistakes will win... particularly ball protection.

This is gonna come down to what does the defense do to match Hurts? Can Hurts play a good game and continue to get that little bit incremental better it'll be interesting.

I feel like the Bills (and lot of other Ds) play vanilla and reactive for that first drive to see what the O is doing, and then will adjust.

i don’t love that strategy, but i guess it makes some sense.

I'd be curious to see the rankings of teams with most wins over six consecutive seasons with the fewest pro-bowlers and all-pros. Three bowlers this year which seems to be about our average (real average is probably even less than 3) and another 12+ win season.

Money pouring in on the Bills.  Line up to -2.5.

So does that mean Vegas makes more money if the Bills lose or win by 1 or 2 points?

The Bills possibly close the stadium next week against the Jets, the same team they opened meaningful play against in 1973.

What some don’t realize, at least I haven’t heard chatter of it, is the Bills, no matter the outcome or possibly playing a playoff game at home, will play their last NFC opponent in the stadium today. That being the Eagles.

The first NFL team to play a regular season game at Rich Stadium?

Those same Eagles.

Bills won that game 27-26 when Eagles kicker, Tom Dempsey, shanked a 20 something yard field goal as time expired.

1973 week 4 game of the week;

Hate 4pm games. Makes me miss the drought and “in the hunt” scenarios. Now I don’t even care.

I miss the Saturday 12:30 playoff starts too. Those were awesome in the 90’s.

A decent litmus test for the D is how the respond on the first drive. I have always felt if you can limit the offense to 3 or less on their initial drive it is a strong indicator on game plan effectiveness for the D.

No. Vegas tries to get 50/50 bets so the losers pay the winners and Vegas gets the vigorish.  So what is happening is that Vegas was taking lots of bets on the Bills at -1.5, they wanted to get bettors to bet the Eagles.  But even -2.5 was not getting enough bets on the Eagles, so the line moved some more.  Basically a market at work.

So lots of money on Bills at -1.5.  Vegas hoping lots of Eagles bets at -3.  Exposure for Vegas would be a 2 point Bill win.  Lose lose for Vegas as -1.5 Bills bets are winners, as are the Eagles bets at -3.  Make sense?
