DK agreed to a contract with that language and has the agency (and representation) to understand the language. If you hit a fan you should get suspended, so he lost his guaranteed money fair and square. It's not like he got suspended for a slightly overdone celebration or anything immaterial.
 

His loss is the Steelers gain, given how inconsistent his play has been.

I agree. As soon as their season ends I would be looking for a trade partner. And YES there is always someone thinking they can do more,or get more out of just about any player.  Hell Dallas traded for Elam.
