I like Josh Karty off the Rams practice squad since he gives you a high upside, younger guy who could replace Bass as well. But yeah if its a stop gap vet, Gay, Tucker, make sense.

Pretty sure they will sign the new kicker to the practice squad and then elevate him on Sunday - not sign him to the active roster. That takes Karty out of the equation.

Little surprised it's mid afternoon and I haven't seen any "Bills are working out kicker x, y, and z" posts today.

Things are looking good for Ray Davis.

What stinks about that is we have to use one of our two call ups this week on a kicker. But yes I agree that is likely what they do...unless Prater gets sent to IR.

We saw Ray kick that xtra point in preseason and as I recall,  it wasn't pretty.

I think the Bills had some kicker injuries in 1968, and signed Bruce Alford just before the Jets game the Bills won 37-35.  They didn’t even have time to sew a name plate on his #46 jersey.

Why can I remember that, but not the two things my wife told me to get at Wegmans today?

He had surgery 2 or 3 weeks ago as whatever the issue was, it didn't heal/go away on it's own.

Yea he had the less commonly known  spleen/uterus transplant procedure

Old enough to remember when Cookie Gilchrist was our kicker [1962].  Wonder if Reggie Gilliam can place kick?

Pellisaro just reported Bills are signing Michael Badgeley to the practice squad.

Was with the Colts and got released because he was struggling to make extra points. He was pretty good on normal FGs though. Hopefully he cleans up the PATs

I was hoping for Matt Gay - who filled in perfectly for the 49ers (4 FGs 4 PATs) when Piniero was hurt.

Badgely was just cut by the colts for missing PATs….
