It's kinda funny that most of my Trump friends are actually being very critical of his post. Kinda surprised me a bit, especially considering some of the things that they've gone out of their way to give him a pass on.

Speaking only for myself, it's something that didn't need to happen, something better left alone.  It aggravates me that he chose as he did.  I don't blame him for feeling the way he does about RR.   Big picture, Rob Reiner was a very adept political player, he moved the needle in California in a significant way for many years. That requires getting your hands dirty, and he seemed comfortable in doing his part.  

 

RR did his part to spread disinformation on the Trump 2016 election calling him an  illegitimate President (lie), certainly was an advocate of putting Trump in jail by any means possible, and supported his version of authoritarian government through Obama, Clinton et al (Russia, surveilling opponents)  I can understand Trump likely despising him to the extent RR despised him.  Up thread a bit, When Sally Met BillStime posted a side by-side of Trump/Obam a remarks like it meant anything.  Obama and Reiner were friends. Trump and Reiner were anything but.

 

Still, it would have been nice and appropriate one time to have him stay out of an issue.

I'm not judging someone who feels the way they do, Mup, not talking about scorn or the like.  There's no moral high ground anymore.  None, zero.  I don't think by the way that it's "Trump Apologist Syndrome", I think it's "Trump Acceptance Syndrome".  He is who he is, sometimes frustratingly so.
