nuklz2594 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago guy has exceeded every expectation. an off-season of work and having Josh as QB...what's his ceiling? Quote
TheyCallMeAndy Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Does have physical limitations, elite blocker.  Ceiling may be Dawson Knox production of the last few years.  Floor is Lee Smith. Quote
NewEra Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago (edited) By the time his rookie contract is up his ceiling is probably 16M aav  scratch that.  18M Edited 2 hours ago by NewEra 3 Quote
Buffalo ill Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I think his ceiling is being unsurance for when Kincaid is up for an extension. I fear being handcuffed by a contract to a often injured player yet again. Having Hawes on the team might softens the blow of trading Dalton or letting him walk.  1 Quote

Mister Defense Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago looks like he is going to be one of the best run (and pass blockers?) in the league for a long time.  If he continues to do well as receiver, and really focuses on that in the off season, attending the tight end camp and working with some of the best on his own, I think he can become a high quality starter, a great compliment to Kincaid.  But Iike Knox too, think he is one of the most under utilized talents on the roster. He separates effectively, has very good hands now, and has become a much better blocker. I would love to keep all three of these guys next year and think Knox can be had for a very good price.  But Brady needs to open his eyes to the talent on the roster, and not wait to be called out for not doing that.   1 Quote
mbs Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I really wanted Lee Smith to get more targets. I think Hawes is getting more than Smith, but it's like a free extra player on the field when you have a guy like that. 1 1 Quote
gonzo1105 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago For a ceiling? I mean the first name that popped into my mind was an early career Martellus Bennett who was a great blocker, had solid hands and caught about 30-40 balls a year. Late career Martellus Bennett I would say no because he eventually turned into a receiving monster which I’m not sure Hawes has in him 1 Quote

Kincaid and how he is used/his skills are nothing close to what Hawes is, or even could be.  Hawes is much closer to Dawson Knox than Dalton Kincaid. If Kincaid walks due to money, we would simply use a WR in that role instead of a TE. 2 1 Quote

atlbillsfan1975 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago He is a serviceable pass catcher and an elite blocker. If an OC can’t figure out how to use Hawes correctly, they need to be fired. I have a feeling he is going to have a huge impact on how far the Bills go in the playoffs when facing some of these elite defenses with top notch pass rushers 1 1 Quote

Too early to predict given his current role on the Bills - primarily a blocking TE, part time TD catcher. But the kid is tough and does the dirty work. How far he progresses beyond the current role depends on how he handles the coming off season. If we add a stud WR in the offseason, it will help the OC go down on the run-pass ratio and he will see more targets. But clearly he is one of the good stories of this season. Quote
zow2 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Yeah Beane gets a golf clap for Jackson Hawes. Never heard of this dude until the Bills drafted him and he's exceeded everything. He probably could be more involved in the passing game if they need him to be. 1 Quote
