No matter what the haters here say McD learns each and every year with each and every situation that he has been in over his time here and in NFL head coaching terms is still a relatively young Head coach in the league which apparently some here don't understand .

So as players that they get here have to have a growth mind set he doesn't limit that to just the players he takes that same thought process on him self and I believe in him as the person that will one day bring Buffalo a Lombardi .

Some of the best life lessons are from screwing up or making decisions that weren't the best at the time but if you learn from them then it wasn't a waste of time it will allow your future to be better than your past and make better decisions when a similar situation comes to be then you can reflect and make a better decision .

I don’t think it’s fair to say McDermott “can’t” win a Super Bowl when we’re heading into a postseason where we might not even see Mahomes, Lamar, or Burrow in the playoffs. That alone changes the entire AFC landscape. And we all know Allen elevates his game in the postseason. When he’s in that mode, he can go toe-to-toe with any QB in the league.

Combine Allen going full Superman with Cook giving us a real run game and a defense that’s trending upward (not elite, but definitely improving), and there’s a very realistic path to the AFC title game, and beyond. Once you’re in the Super Bowl, anything can happen in a one-game scenario, especially with a quarterback like Allen who’s capable of completely taking over.

The season still has to play out before anyone can claim McDermott “will never” win a championship. The truth is, we’ve been close multiple times. Being close doesn’t guarantee it will happen, but it absolutely proves it can. Just because he hasn’t won one yet doesn’t mean he’s incapable of doing it.

What gives you this impression? Has there been some comments made or anything else that has come out? I’m legitimately curious.

i heard some radio guys talk about it, and some sort of un sourced stuff i saw on bills twitter.  partly it's what people are saying about mcd's comments, but i think at the very least tensions are rising.  and they should be, it's been too close for too long.

To dismiss Brady as an internal hire as if he was just some position coach lingering around for years is wrong.  He was clearly hired onto the staff with expectations of greater responsibilities, and was regarded as a talented young offensive mind.

Yet he has not met “expectations” nor does he appear to be a “talented young offensive mind”.  Yet here he is wasting another year of Allen’s prime.

He’s fine. I think we (Josh Allen) win big games in spite of him mostly.

Eye test. The defense is the worst it’s ever been. There are no consistently great players. Too many injuries

I don't think we win despite McDermott.  I think he has us prepared most weeks to compete.  He has become more aggressive in going for it on 4th down, which I like.  I do not like him taking time outs on defense in the second half before the end of the game when we are losing, like he did twice against Cincinnati.

Lets see the game plan and mindset we bring against New England this week.  Everyone seems to think Vrabel is such a great coach.  McDermott has a chance to show the NFL world that he can go toe to toe against Vrabel.  The results will be interesting.

I do agree with your last statement.  We definitely do not have any consistently great players on defense.  We don't even have any consistently very good players on defense.  Benford can be that.  And Shaq Thompson is a consistently good player.  And Ed Oliver and Bishop should be that.  Bishop could approach Benford's level if he keeps on an upward trajectory.  And I would go out on a small limb to say that Hancock and Hairston could very well be consistently good by next year.  But we do need better play from our D line.  And that seems to be more on Beane than McDermott.

I see fissures between him and Beane. He doesn't defend him anymore. Beane stepped in it with the radio guys over WR. I see McD separating himself from those decisions.

There's nothing different about him. He's still the same fraud that is being carried by the best QB in the league.

It's the same every season. The team starts off good, struggles mid season and then goes on a run in December that makes them look like legit contenders. The hype builds on here and then they inevitably crash out in the playoffs when they face a team with a good coach and defense.

This is an internet chat room not a court case deposition. Would you prefer it if I’d said “PROBABLY can’t”? Or cited every mediocre head coach that has won it?

McDs resume grows with every passing season. He’s shown me nothing to indicate this year will be any different from recent playoff failures.

He could use a fall guy at this juncture.

Barry Switzer adores you right now.

Or you can be a complete and utter moron who is given a team laden with HOF talent out of the spite of the owner for his previous HOF coach who kept stepping into his spotlight. Better?

Have you seen our missed tackle numbers improve throughout the season? They have. Zero missed tackles vs the run the past two weeks.

They aren’t interested in drifting from their narratives.

Coaches of 9-4 teams are of course notorious for requiring fall guys

There will be no fall guy. There has been no indication from Terry that Brandon and Sean are on the hot seat. Both will be back next season.

If you're good for long enough, things will eventually fall your way. That's true in life and football.

McDermott knows that you can almost always count on the other team doing something stupid or making a mistake. So you keep it tight, capitalize, and win.

There's so much bad football and poor situational awareness in this league.

Now look: it's likely that the AFC road to the Super Bowl involves no Burroughs, no Mahomes, and no Jackson

Was riding along for fun with an assertion someone is seeing “fissures” developing. Was gonna take the low road on that one. Next time I’ll know better.

Even if the Bills missed the playoffs (they won't) I think Terry would give them 2026 to fix it. Despite not winning a Super Bowl they have won a lot of games, division titles and make it to the AFCCG twice. I want a change because after 9 years of not getting to the Super Bowl I don't think they will get there with this FO. But my opinion means nothing as only Terry's counts.
