Maye will win the MVP now. He is the favorite now at -200 to -250. As long as he doesn’t play like total crap against Miami it is his to lose now. He has taken the lead.

Edit: Now that the game is over Maye is -400 at one book and -650 at another. It’s wrapped up.

Such a joke.  The last game or two of the season counts more than the prior 15 games.

Allen can go to New England and win a road playoff game against a 23 year old who has one career signature win, and old WR 1 age 32, and two reliable mid-round WRs who our CBs just handled.

MVP is Stafford's award to lose.

See the odds BillytheKid just posted?  Stafford lost the MVP with his no show tonight.

MVP has lost its luster to me.  Josh  has had three mvp caliber seasons, coming away with one win that actually caused a lot of anger to many media members.  Kid comes on the scene, has everything bounce his way with some fortunate wins, easy schedule and good, but not great stats, and rolls right into an MVP.  Not saying Josh deserved it this year, because he didn't, but you would hope an MVP would have a bit more to offer.   Regardless, Maye had a terrific second campaign and looks to have a bright future.

The Patriots will win a lot of off season awards. Maye MVP. Probably the award for front office guy of the year. Vrabel likely coach of the year...even though Coen, Ben Johnson and Dave Canales should get strong consideration. Shannahan as well for getting #1 seed with the injuries they have had.

And Maye winning the MVP...too soon. Guy is gonna have to live up to that now. Not saying he can't...but a lot of added pressure now for a young player. Even more pressure winning it with the history the Pats have. He will probably never have a season where everything fell into place so easily.

Lamar was heavy favorite leading up to the award show. Allen ended up winning. I do think it is open for Maye to win award but just because books have Maye as heavy favorite doesn’t means that is how voters are going to vote. Line has shifted because money came in during game on Maye. I think it is still up in the air still but Maye is definitely going to get some 1st place votes. Stats still favor Stafford. For me I put it at 55-45 Stafford. Win against Miami and lock up #2 seed. I think it swings to Maye slightly especially if he can close the stats gap between him and Stafford.

If Maye wins MVP, to me the award is meaningless. Easiest schedule in decades, no signature MVP moments, HoF O coordinator who literally schemes wide open players every play.

Good season. But Most Valuable Player? Come on now.

The award became meaningless when Lamar won it in 2023

Least deserved MVP in league history (well other than that time they gave it to a kicker when the players went on strike in the 80s). Lamar finished that season with 29 TDs tied for 7th most with Russell Wilson and Tua Tagovailoa.

I don't know, brahs.

I really don't care about MVP odds, Sportsbook, whatever.

Rams and Bills are both 11-5.

Patriots had an easy f'n schedule this season.

I'm a homer. Oh well. I'll still vote for Josh Allen MVP.

I live 20 minutes from Foxboro and have been swimming in a cesspool of Patriots fans for more than half my life after growing up in Buffalo.  There are a few people with the same disdain for the Patriots as me.  That being said, you guys are being ridiculous if you think Maye is completely undeserving of MVP.  Yes, talk all you want about the easy schedule.  It certainly is worth noting.  But last year, everyone here talked about how even though Lamar had better numbers than Josh, our guy had less weapons to work with.  Going into the season, most experts had the Patriots having worse running backs, worse receiving targets, and a worse offensive line than the Bills or the Rams.  As much as it pains me to admit it, it's astonishing that Drake Maye leads the league in completion percentage and passer rating.  If you are into the more advanced metrics he also leads in EPA per drop back.  Has Stafford played against tougher opponents, yes. But he has a fairly ridiculous assortment of targets, along with Sean McVay.  In the end, the voters are human, and may tip the scales towards Stafford seeing as that he has never won MVP.  I could see an argument either way but let's not pretend that Maye isn't worthy.  Now as far as sustained success and putting him on a similar tier as Josh? No way.  MVP or not this year for Drake, he has to prove it for a few more years.

3 of the 4 guys on ESPN GetUp this morning said they'd award the MVP to Christian McCaffrey.  One guy said Drake Maye.

Sometimes I think the MVP is given to a guy who may have deserved it a year or two earlier, but has never won it.  Allen fit that mold last year, McCaffrey also could've won it a few years ago with the Niners when he had an amazing season but they rarely give it to RBs.

No, Allen was the favorite after the last regular season game last year. Every player that has been the favorite at the Sports Book after the last regular season game has won it the last 25 plus years except for one time when it was a super tight race between Manning and Adrian Peterson. Peterson won it as the number two odds on favorite but it was a lot tighter than this race is. It’s over. Maye has won it unless he has a 3 interception game against the Dolphins and completely craps the bed.

This is certainly a thing. If Allen won in 2023, Lamar would have won last season. Allen had better stats in 2023 and lost. So he got the MVP last year with worse stats.

I do think voters might say "Maye will have plenty of opportunities to win in the future. Stafford is closer to the end an MVP basically ensures his place in Canton." Thus, Stafford could win on that.

The award has lost importance because nobody knows what the criteria is. "Valuable" is open to interpretation.

Ah nope. He does not deserve it imo. Shanahan deserves it on the 49ers. He is not a player but he is the number one reason they are fighting for the one seed.

it'll be Maye now because Stafford lost to Atlanta

The "good" thing about Maye winning MVP is maybe it leads to him becoming a celebrity on one of the NFL's golden children (Patriots). Thus, he gets distracted and is not the same level QB moving forward. Sometimes too much too soon is not a good thing.

I think he has already put himself back in the race, and with a similar game next week vs NE, while outplaying Media darling Drake Maye, he might move into the driver's seat.

His only competition at this point is Matt Stafford and Jonathan Taylor.......Taylor's season is about to get a lot harder due to his QB situation, and Stafford's numbers are impressive, but he has 2 #1 receivers to throw to.

Josh Allen had a couple of off games this year, which set him back, but with a strong finish, back-to-back MVP's is still a realistic outcome!!

Go Bills!!!!!

Thoughts??

He should never have been out of the race. He will have won 12 regular season games with horrid receivers, a mediocre defense, and a coach who cares little to not at all about providing him with weapons.

Josh Allen is the best player in the NFL.

Well looks like I might have spoke too soon. Now after week 18, because Stafford threw 4 td’s today and no turnovers and Maye only throwing 1 TD and not doing a whole lot, Stafford finished as the odds on MVP Favorite. But only a -140 favorite right now which isn’t much of anything.

So could be a year where Maye is like Adrian Peterson was , as the second odds on favorite at the Sports Book because it’s so close and possibly win it.

With Stafford finishing after week 18 as the favorite though, even ever so slightly, would have to say Stafford wins it now as that is what has happened 24 of the last 25 years plus.
