It was a calculated bet that what they saw out of Daniel Jones wasn't a mirage.  His play faded a little but I argued at the time of the trade it was a bad move because of the injury history with him.

Any game on the road in the state of CA for the drought Bills was always a bloodbath, especially in San Deigo.

I get why people are ripping on this, but it’s December, the Colts are in a wild card spot, and the guys available are extremely slim

 

Sam Ehliger? 
Taylor Heinike?

Tannehill said in November he was done, I doubt that changed a month later

 

There isn’t a good option. Maybe Rivers provides enough stability that they win games with their running game and defense. I get it’s crazy, but who is available at this point that can be even remotely good for a few weeks?

I had to scroll through the thread first to see if anyone mentioned George Blanda. 

 

I did some research, though, and his two grandsons are in their 30s, meaning they were born well after Blanda retired in 1976.

The guy hasn't played since 2020, so I doubt he just wants to practice and watch that offense from the sidelines

Why not? I agree with your point they went all in. They could do a lot worse than Rivers. I always liked him so maybe I’m biased.

The Colts are toast. Their hot start will save the regime because they can say "we lost our Quarterback down the stretch" but their hot start was about unbalanced schedule as much as anything with their cupcakes frontloaded.

As much as Daniel jones was a fun story I can’t really disagree there
