Looked good out there to me.......maybe the knee brace was gamesmanship by the Bills to keep the Bengals guessing?? Quote
Nephilim17 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Option, for sure. But to me, he's the offensive Milano: better than average player who makes some big plays — but can't stay healthy. See if he can stack together at least 14 or 15 games next season. If he can't, I'd be wary of extending him for big bucks. Quote
YodaMan79 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago I voted to let him walk. I’ve said for years that Mike Gesicki brings essentially the same skill set for a fraction of the cost. And if you think this is a recency-bias take, go search the forum threads, I’ve been consistent on this. Why pay a premium for production you can get on the open market? 1 Quote

Why pay an up and comer who is improving his blocking to become a cornerstone, when you could have a guy who will be 31 next year who plays a one trick blocking-allergic pony in the NFL? Let me think about it. 1 1 Quote
Ethan in Cleveland Posted 54 minutes ago Posted 54 minutes ago Pass on the option. Make him play out next year and then let him go. Get a 3rd round comp pick. They need two WRs and they are not letting Allen's best friend Knox go anywhere. 1 Quote

Alphadawg7 Posted 37 minutes ago Posted 37 minutes ago I’m torn to be honest - Knox is a good TE and Hawes is an elite blocker and been usable as a pass catcher too. Knox issue is he doesn’t start and is used more as a blocker now with Kincaid on the roster. I don’t know we miss a lot running Knox and Hawes than by running Kincaid and Knox. Kincaid is the superior pass catcher no doubt of the 3, but I don’t know if we need to spend the money when we still have 2 other good TEs who stay healthier. So for me, I voted extend on the cheap because I think that is what will happen. BUT my personal take is show us what you have the rest of this year. We are still waiting for Kincaid to become a critical weapon the way Kelce, Gates, Graham, Gronk, Gonzalez, Sharp, etc were at times for their teams. Kincaid makes some nice plays here and there, but he’s never been some force the other team struggles to stop really like other actual key weapon TEs have been in the past and like how he was supposed to be used here. Let me think about it. How old is Kincaid next year? Don’t worry, I’ll help you out: he’s the opposite of Edmunds. How much more upside does a 27-year-old have? He is what he is. No one can argue he’s not above average when available. He was a questionable first-round pick, and it looks even worse now when you see the production from younger, more talented TEs. There are players hitting free agency every year who can match his output. DK still hasn’t had a single season that tops what Gesicki has done multiple times. I’m using Gesicki as an example, not necessarily pounding the table to sign him, though I wouldn’t be against it if a player like him was available. What’s wrong with short-term deals for guys who actually produce? How can you look at the Knox contract and be ready to run that sequel again? If you’re cool paying top-five money to a tweener who struggles to stay on the field, I don’t know what to tell you. For your reference. If DK had similar production (19,20,21 & 24) we'd be thrilled. Gesicki has an AAV of 8.5 million. Goedert will be available in the off-season for likely much less than DK. Edited 26 minutes ago by YodaMan79 Quote

They have Kincaid next year and then you draft WR in rounds 1 and 3. Bring back Shakir and Palmer. Let Samuel go. Trade Coleman for a 7th. Shavers is #5. I am an unabashed Knox guy. He was my second favorite player on the team after Allen. Now its Cook but Knox is still top 5 fav. Beane for all his cap mismanagement has gotten a couple guys to take home town discounts to stay (Morse and Von come to mind). Hopefully Knox knows how good he has it and takes a reasonable pay cut on a new 3 year deal. Use the rest of the draft on Edge, Safety, IOL, and LB. Quote

If he doesn’t, no hard feelings. We have THREE quality TE’s now, so that means options. Options are good if we use them wisely. 10 minutes ago, YodaMan79 said: How old is Kincaid next year? That’s rich. Glad you have a hunch with nothing tangible to back it up. Edited 8 minutes ago by YodaMan79 Quote
