They also cheated a lot by having guys fall down acting injured slowing down the Bills uptempo and two plays later guy is back in making plays.

What makes Burrow so hard to defend is that he’s easily the best anticipatory passer in the league! Dude just puts the ball in the air and the receivers just have to be in certain spots. I don't know my football x's and o's as well as many people here (I'm a hockey player), but isn't the answer jamming the receivers at the line to throw off their timing? I don't recall our cornerbacks doing that much, which is actually all the more reason to do it today, take them by surprise. Of course, both Chase and Higgins are big boys, and White at least may be the least physical DB on the team, but still, you can't let them just catch the ball in stride. Another strategy, a complementary one, is to blow them up at the catch point. Both Bishop and Poyer have done that at times this season. Physicality is what I'd like to see. Since it's unlikely they'll hurry Burrows, who gets the ball off quickly anyway, focus on intimidating the receivers. 

Doesn't sound like a McDermott defense, though, does it?

They had them in the 1st half.  A few drives up 10-3 and then 12-3. Still hurts.

same, ive watched every interview about that game I could have... bill belichecks strategy won them that game, kellys/marvs inability to make the offensive adjustments right away is what lost them the game. thruman had 15 carries for 135. most of it in the second half. that's 9 yards a carry. 9. super billsy way to lose to a team with a backup QB in the SUPERBOWL. sigh.

Yeah, they should most definitely try that today because he’s gonna dink and donk us today like last time, so we gotta bring it…

It was a sneaky Injury because defenses couldn't matchup with two great deep threats, Lofton on one side, Beebe on the other...Edwards was pretty decent tho. Bills has Tasker obviously for depth and also used Don Smith as a slot type backup wr

 

This allowed Reed, Thomas, & McKeller to be matched up on slower lbs back then and it was almost impossible to adjust when they were going no huddle.

 

This is why bellicheat put 8-9 in covg and purposely let buffalo run.

 

For 3 reasons 

 

1. You shorten the game. You can only score 1 TD per possession. Make the other team go 12-15 plays

 

2. Betting on the bills impatience with the run & short passing game because of their incredible success the last two playoffs games. 95 pts in 2 games

 

3. Punishment of the bills wrs. You put 8-9 guys in covg and back then you could destroy wrs and basically mug them.

 

The pats with bellicheat had a similar game plan vs the 2001 rams with Holt, Bruce & Faulk

Exactly right. For SB 36, I bet a mortgage payment on NE getting 12 1/2. Never told the wife. I knew Belichick would come up with something to slow the Rams down. But Ill tell you, waiting for kickoff was an excruciating few hours.  I promised myself I would never bet again.  All I could do was drink and pace at my buddies house. I knew at halftime I was going to win but that day aged me. I haven't placed a bet since.
