Gotta Go with KC Over Texans

I hate to say this, never thought I would, but gotta pull for KC over Houston this weekend with the possibility of the Bills laying a turd against the Bengals (big possibility). We are two games up on KC and hold the tie breaker where the Bills are only one up on Houston but they own the tie breaker. A Bills loss and Texans win knocks the Bills out of the last playoff spot. Unless the Chargers or Colts lose. The Bills 3 losses in the AFC (2 in division) are killers. A fourth AFC loss starts putting the nail in the coffin. I don't see the Bills wining out so if they're going to lose one it has to be the Philly game (hate to say it).

I am also rooting for the Chiefs. At 6-6 they aren't catching the Bills and if they did then the Bills don't deserve the playoffs anyway. The AFCS will be interesting to watch with the Jags, Colts, and Texans all in the mix to win the division. Out of these three teams I like the Texans simply because of that defense. We will see how it plays out.

100% agree. I think at this point, the Wild Card is our only realistic shot of getting in to the playoffs (division is very, very unlikely with NE current record and schedule and Buffalo's division record).

 

KC still has other games on their schedule they could lose to ultimately miss the playoffs (Denver again, but in KC; Chargers).

Agreed.  This team has shown zero consistency.  Hopefully they win out, but Im with you - need KC to beat Houston.

 

Would be awesome to put this in a poll to see where everyone’s head is at.

I understand the logic behind this thinking but I am going the opposite way. 

 

If KC wins this one I believe they have a good chance of running the table and making it in with the only other tough game being Denver at home. I'd rather KC not make it in at all.

Mahomes is going be under duress the entire game.. the saving grace for the Chiefs is the Texans O is a mess at best. (And is it me or did they look better with the backup in?)

I can never root for KC with Mahomes and Reid there. The sooner they are eliminated the better as they can always go on a run and no one wants to face them come the postseason. To me they are playing better than they did last year but losing all these 1 score games they were winning last year. They made the Super Bowl with a worse team last year. If Houston loses not going to lose any sleep but I think we can hang with them if we have full complement of players on offense. I think Joe Brady and the Bills didn't do much in terms of game planning for that game and it showed being it was a short week.

I'll never root for the Chiefs unless it somehow clearly benefit the Bills. And it is not the case.

 

I am not afraid of the Texans. Bills are making PO no matter what the Texans do. Some of you are really having BBFS. WE ARE MAKING PLAYOFFS. We are always good in December and we will get in even if we lose to the Bengals.

 

On the other hand, the Chiefs missing playoffs is such an amazing consolation price if we don't win SB. Let them lose. I hope that Mahomes gets sacked 16 times and they get shut out at home (won't happen though).

 

Stop worrying about tiebreakers so much.

Oh cmon objectively we have about 90% chance to make PO right now and you are talking about "nails in the coffin". Like seriously. We'll have about 80% even if we lose.

It would probably be better for the Bills if the Chiefs won but I can’t bring myself to root for them.  Plus I think the Texans win this one fairly easily.  I see their defense destroying the chiefs offense.

This one is tricky because a loss to KC keeps the Texans firmly in the WC group. 
 

After the Chiefs they have the Cardinals and Raiders.  

So if we lose 2/3 against CIN, NE, PHI, most likely they jump us on the head to head tiebreaker heading into the final two weeks where they have the Chargers and Colts.. one team on shaky ground and another trending down. 
 

I think we want them to win the Division.  
 

Colts could easily fall off a cliff with their schedule and no Sauce for, potentially, the rest of the regular season.  
 

Jags are weird. They’ll probably split with Indy and beat the Jets and Titans. Leaving the Broncos game as to whether they are 11-6 or 12-5.  I think they’re probably in as Div winner or WC as they have the head to head against KC too.   So I think in terms of the AFC South, rooting for Jax to beat Indy is the bigger hope?… We need that division to only get 2 unless the Chargers fall

We’ll know the result of the Bills’ game when the Chiefs and Texans play. If the Bills win, root for the Texans. If they lose, don’t root for anyone…but secretly hope the Chiefs win.

I think on sheer making playoff percentage absolutely but if you want to factor in ‘chance we can succeed in the playoffs after making it’ I think I could see either side of this argument 

it’ll look scary briefly if we lose to cincy but the other wildcard teams all play eachother and someone has to lose those games

I think there's a decent chance the Bills will be 8-6 in two weeks, so KC winning is definitely in the Bills' interest. Cincy is coming off a mini-bye and Burrow has never lost to the Bills, and the Pats will be coming off a full bye and playing at home. They are also a better coached team than the Bills with probably a better roster overall. Of course, the Bills are capable of winning both of those games, but hope is not a plan. The Bills have the head to head vs KC; they don't vs Houston. Seems like an easy decision to me.

I want the Chiefs to lose out. Don't care in the least about Houston or their record.

 

The Bills should take care of their own business. If they don't, then it won't matter anyhow.
