We are going to have years of problems with the Pats (we've seen this story before) UGH In actually for it. Steel sharpens steel. Division been too soft and easy. I said the same in hoping Rodgers would help Jets become competent. Didn't, but here's a chance I guess. Quote

They became average to good at best QB's. Stroud's rookie year is the only one of those that is remotely comparable to Maye this year, and there were a lot of analytics that showed Stroud was getting away with a good amount of turnover luck and that sort of thing. I don't know what to tell people that are still trying to dismiss what Maye has done this year. He and Vrabel/McDaniels are going to be a problem for the next decade. The scary thing is they have a ton of cap space next year so what we're seeing this season is the floor. Don't be surprised if they add AJ Brown or a similar talent. They are probably overachieving this year relative to their talent, but that's what great coaching gets you and the talent is only going to get better. Edited 1 hour ago by HappyDays 1 Quote

I'm guessing he doesn't have the best reputation in the world. He's probably a guy who is (and should be) a lifetime O.C. I hear ya, @dcinmuncie. I personally thought that when McDaniels reneged on the Colts his shots at HC were up. But what do either of us know, because he got serious looks from Cleveland and then hired by Vegas. So he seems to have the "golden key" as a sales dude. I suspect you're correct that OC is where he should stay, but I don't know I can say that I understand what governs who does or does not get shots. Quote
Buffalo716 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Kids definitely talented but let's not act like he's on Pace for 40 touchdowns He's solid.. NFL game plans have not caught up to them and the game planning gets better for the playoffs He's playing with a lot of confidence but people remember Jaden Daniels was considered a superstar rising last year and that fell really fast.. CJ Stroud was supposed to be the next big thing that fell fast Every quarterback is going to hit a slump how you bounce back from it tells a lot more 1 Quote

Someone just pointed out that Stroud got away with a lot of turn over worthy plays his rookie year (I’ll believe their research) and Maye has played 25 games now and has broken a record for highest completion percentage EVER on his first 25 games.. that’s a decent sample size.. the difference this year? Competent coaching and he is playing smarter. Quote

Competent coaching and he is playing smarter. Maye is very solid again But to think he's never going to go through a bad two or three game stretch in his career is literally not true They were nowhere near a playoff team last year they were not getting playoff caliber game plans.. and it's about to get ramped up to that time Every single quarterback whether it was Tom Brady Peyton Manning Aaron Rodgers or Josh Allen has gone through some lulls Every quarterback is going to hit a slump.. the difference is the all pros bounce back from that slump still at an all pro level while the vast majority do not People like Blake bortles threw 35 touchdowns and 4,000 yards before and never ever came close to that again and he was a number three overall pick with talent too maye is playing light out.. how he bounces back from a rough stretch will show a lot more about his decade-long ceiling He literally has faced very little adversity this year which if you watch football you should know that's not good coming into playoff time.. the bills have seen so much adversity that I'd be willing to bet we match up in the playoffs and Josh Allen will rise above Drake Maye because we're going to have a playoff game plan that he's never seen and adversity will hit He's definitely already put himself in the top 10 but that doesn't mean he's guaranteed to be a top three quarterback sure fire HoF The ebbs and flows to a player's career in the NFL are massive The way New England is playing a good amount of NFL quarterbacks would be looking good with them right now.. it's not like Drake May is taking a non-skilled team and propping them to 10-2.. they are very good and Bought in.. you have wide receivers running open you have solid running backs and a hard hitting defense it's a good team Edited 31 minutes ago by Buffalo716 Quote

US Egg Posted 31 minutes ago Posted 31 minutes ago Maybe it’s been mentioned, but doesn’t New England have big money to throw around in free agency? This kid’s gonna get more tools if that’s the case and Patriots fans are gonna have to wear shades. Quote
Steptide Posted 30 minutes ago Posted 30 minutes ago Yes, Maye is really freaking good at the moment. We'll see what the future holds though. Remember how good the 9ers were with purdy a few yrs back when they went to the superbowl? What happened after that when injuries started to happen? Remember how good vrabel had the titans at one point? Point is, we'll see how long they sustain this success. Maybe it's a few years, maybe it's 10 years. Side note, I actually don't think this is a bad thing for the bills. They have litterally tried to match kc for 5 straight years now. Maybe Beane will beef this team up a bit and start to build this offense Quote
Chaos Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago (edited) I just want to clariy this for everyone. Maye is not the player Allen is. Maybe someday but not now. Edited 26 minutes ago by Chaos Quote

gobills404 Posted 12 minutes ago Posted 12 minutes ago (edited) I think he definitely has superstar potential as he’s an accurate thrower to all 3 levels with good arm strength, size, and mobility. I don’t think he’s had a real superstar performance (yet) though. Never thrown for 300 yards or had more than 3 total TDs and has never put the team on his back in a close win. Best team he’s beat by far is the Bills in week 5 in a game where he had zero TDs and they still needed a game winning FG despite the Bills turning it over 3 times. I think we’ll learn a lot about if he has that “it” factor in the playoffs this year and against a first place schedule next year. Edited 11 minutes ago by gobills404 Quote

I think he will be fine.. he has great poise and he played well last year on a crap team unable to win. i disagree this O is Drake Maye and his accuracy and ability deliver an amazing deep ball.. an average QB with no real run game wins maybe 7 games so far.. still an improvement but his ability with Macdaniels as OC brought this O from pure garbage to I think a top 10 O. Come playoffs I don’t know what will happen, but as long as he plays like he can the games should be close and fun.. Quote
