Ok. I’m an analytics guy. So this is shocking to me with the eye test. But interesting and comforting as a bills fan. Just think Maye and their offense is smooth and polished. Our OL is better.

maye is playing really well. ive been very impressed

saying he's not in allen's league is no disservice to the kid. few are

Let's see how he does in the playoffs when he faces better competition. He went to a really small school that is a low tier education and football facility. If he went to a legitimate college I might have a little more faith in him.

But that logic could be applied to Allen. Wyoming and juco no where …

The Bills had somewhere in the 3-5 easiest schedule this season depending on site you looked.

Difference is we play the Chiefs, Texans & Eagles. Patriots play the Raiders, Titans and Giants.

I don’t know how good the Patriots really are…..they’ve literally played nobody…..their best win is vs us and it took a bunch of turnovers for them to win by 3 points.

He went to North Carolina…..last I checked they’re a power 5 program

Maye has more completions, yards, passing TDs, best completion % in NFL and fewer interceptions.  Maye also leads league in Total EPA and is 3rd in EPA per dropback.  Josh is 4th in total EPA and 6th in EPA per dropback.

Maye actually has more rushing attempts and is with 100 yds of Josh rushing. Josh has more rushing TDs.

So what do you guys really think about Drake Maye right now? Is this kid legit — like, “future superstar, could end up in that Mahomes/Allen/Lamar neighborhood” legit — or are we looking at another guy the media is hyping up way too early, like what happened with Lawrence, Purdy, Stroud, or Love?

’Cause man… I’m starting to see a lot of buzz out there, everyone’s getting fired up about him. But what do you think? Is he actually special, or are we gonna find out pretty soon that he’s not all that?

He was legit last year and he’s just proving it now.

Only on paper. It's a lousy school. Like not even best 10 in the state. Shaw is a better school.

Mmmmm. What? Chapel hill is not inferior to Wyoming in any way. Unless you want to be near mountains as a reason to go to college.

He looks good. Will know more about him in week 15 & how he performs in the postseason.

Guys like Purdy, Stroud, Tua came on the scene and looked good. Then, they did not look good. They became average to good at best QB's.

I understand you might like North carolina, it's a great state. But UNC is a blemish on the state.

The MVP chants are going to be loud at their next game vs. the Bills (probably with Diggs leading them).  Hopefully Josh reminds them why he is the reigning MVP and shuts them up.

Yea like what is the guy on? There’s not a single person that actually watches college football that would say Wyoming is a better program than North Carolina.

Drake Maye is much more smooth. And he’s consistently accurate. He’s burrow with more mobility. Allen is all over the place intra game (Tampa game is perfect example. Allen is super high variance which is disturbing at this juncture of his career.

right now Maye is playing way better

im aware that it’s a team game and pat’s coaches are way way way better. And the game day organization and operation is super buttoned up and smooth.

Agree.  The point I was getting at is his OC is making it easier for him by design.  The variance you reference is just a difference in the 2 people/players mentality imo.  I equate it to my industry.  It is the difference between a studio guitar player and a live hired gun.  The studio guy is buttoned up and makes way less mistakes...strives for perfection.  The hired gun is a live action hot rod.  He will make more mistakes but will give you those moments of magic in front of a crowd that gives you that dopamine hit like no other, which most studio guys cant do.  One of the early pieces of advice I got is you are not pushing the envelope hard enough if you aren't making mistakes.  The live action machine can overcome the mistakes and give you more most of the time...Yeah you are going to have a bad night or 2.  But, the magic is worth it to me.  You can win with both.  It is just which style do you want more.

He looks very legit. I don’t love him in the division.

But we also saw this play out before. New OC and young talented QB have been crowned prematurely.

CJ Stroud and Jayden Daniels both exploded on the scene and looked every bit as good as Drake has this year.

Yea this is my take. I think he is very legit. But let's see once teams have a proper year of film to see what he can't do. My gut says he has more instincts than Stroud and more method than Jayden.... which is kind of the happy place between the two. But we are going to find out sooner than later.

He's been great. His downfield throws in particular have excellent. I expect his GM to slowly remove all of his WRs, surround with him physically limited cast offs, and ask him to be a game manager in a boring run heavy offense. Maybe if Josh McDaniels gets a head coaching job they can just hire whatever offensive coach who happens to already be in the building to be his replacement.
