Kids a stud “this season”……not sure how he’ll look with a harder schedule and a year for teams to really game plan for him. Remember Tua looked like a top 3 QB at one point.

He has Talent , better support staff, better OC ,better coaching and better recievers than Bills.

Give Maye his propers.  He's leading the league in like - everything right now. 

He also has the advantage of working with a good veteran OC who has enough pieces around him.  Decent OL, two canny vet WR and a solid TE.  A lot of reliance on the run game in terms of attempts, if not in terms of yards.  And, the Patriots have a solid D.  Vrabel may be a meathead, but he's a very good coach and traditionally gets the best out of his teams.

There's a long history of players who look amazing and for one or another reason don't last.  I remember when we were hearing "show me another QB who is playing better than Mac Jones right now".  Belichick ruined him with his Matt Patricia experiment, but I digress.

 

"He's better than Josh already right now" is hyperbole.

How is “he is better than Josh right now” hyperbole?  There is no reasonable argument one could make RIGHT NOW that he isn’t better than Josh.  What am I missing?

 

Doesnt mean he has better resume.  Doesn’t mean he will have better career.

 

It means he is better then Josh this season so far.

One of the most enjoyable things about the early '90's was Kelly vs Marino.

 

The year Miami was up on us and we caught them and beat them to win the division (when Tua looked like a legit threat) was great. Winning it all because the competition is weak is lame.

When i see Maye playing in NE, i see the same style he played at UNC.........throws into tight windows, scrambling threat, dropping dimes, excellent footwork, good mechanics, able to read D's, gets the ball out quick, timing routes, etc.

 

It looks like his OC contributed to his NFL transition by keeping most of his college schemes and thus, simplifying the process for him.

 

I think next year, teams will have caught up to Maye and his OC schemes, but as it sits right now, the rest of the league is just trying to keep pace, without much success, i might add.

The Bills had somewhere in the 3-5 easiest schedule this season depending on site you looked.

He is not better than the Allen of '20-'24..that Allen was outrageous with his playmaking.  But this season I agree Maye is the better passer of the football.  And going forward, the scary thing is with his accuracy, arm strength and touch from the pocket Maye will have these skills well into his late 30's.   He doesn't need to run around and make scramble plays to be effective.  He can see everything from the pocket and is deadly accurate.

Idk what voodoo magic mcdaniels is going but he has guys running pretty standard routes and they are wide open so often so it’s pretty hard to evaluate 😂. He definitely throws a really nice deep ball and is obviously good…if he’s one of the few greats we’re about to find out I think

I feel like he's going to be a problem for a long time. Watch out if they land him a stud WR. I even traded Joe Burrow straight up for him at the beginning of the season in dynasty.

I have watched every game I can and he is very poised in the pocket and always keeps looking downfield… his accuracy on all his passes is amazing especially his deep ball.. he does at times in the beginning of games is to “hyped” up and will miss high on receivers a few times but has always settled in.  He looks legit.. is he a future top 5? Only time will tell this year he is definitely top 5.. he has made an average line and WR look good to at times elite with his abilities (although he has sacked himself a few times lol)

Is it voodoo or is Maye that freakishly patient in the pocket that he scans the field and finds the wide open guy and doesn't force it?  There should always be an outlet guy open somewhere short.

Truly asking.. better receivers? Really? Because until this all happened people and the talking heads were saying how the pats needed a true WR1 and how the WR room was one of the worst in the NFL and Diggs was a shadow of his former self.  I thought the Bills WR were considered at least average aren’t they? I think the pats had a better draft class this year than the Bills with 6 to 7 making contributions regularly (or outright starters) and Williams starting to click with Maye as a WR..

Goes to show where a good head coach and competent OC will take you; especially if you have a talented QB.   Remember when we could move the ball with relative ease, constantly in the opponents territory, and we led the league in converting 3rd and longs like child's play.  I miss those days!

Scary, but this season will be the least talented Pats team until Maye gets that big 2nd contract.  Next season the Pats will load up on some big names with their $54M in cap space.  Meanwhile the Bills will be shopping at the Dollar Tree with their $1.67M.

We will see what happens in another year as defensive coordinators get some film on him. He is also prone to fumbling. A lot will be determined on how he handles a pass rush over time. Looks good right now. After their bye, the next two games should be telling, Buffalo and Baltimore.
