He, I think has the ability to be bigger in the passing game. Edited 3 hours ago by BuffaloBillyG 2 Quote

Bills have been imposing their will on bad teams for many years now. Not much experience on imposing their will past the WC round of playoffs. Exactly, Chaos. 1 hour ago, oldmanfan said: Lombardi’s Packers ran the power sweep all game and dared teams to stop it. They never could. Not saying what we did Sunday is Packeresque, but if you find something that works as well as that play did you run it till the opposition proves they can stop it. And they couldn’t. And when other teams do stop our run game as they have before and inevitably will again, are you confident that Brady will have an answer? 2 hours ago, finn said: A few thoughts: a) I'm glad the film guy gave credit to Kromer as well as Brady; b) depressing that we couldn't hit a long play-action pass off so many successful runs--and didn't even try; c) mindlessly calling the same 10 plays is a Brady special that is not going to work on better teams, and I'm concerned that, far from learning from the losses this year, most of which are on him, he's now going to double down on his tendencies, making the Bills offense an easy target in the playoffs; d) we have us a gem in Hawes, Shavers is a terrific blocking receiver, and the two backups look like keepers. This is exactly my concern. We were concerned about the offense earlier this year and then we beat KC and everyone was placated... until we were stomped by Miami. Brady has absolutely not proven that he's evolved as quickly as he should. Apparently Coleman got some snaps from the slot against Pittsburgh... something posters here have been clamoring for all season long. Maybe there is hope but I'm more of a proof guy than a hope guy. 3 hours ago, machine gun kelly said: I havent seen all the rookies, but Hawes has done a great job. I can see his role continuously growing this year and the next. No defensive player wants to tackle him. You can just imagine a LB, or Safety once Allen tosses him a short pass, “OH CRAP”. 1 hour ago, WhitewalkerInPhilly said: I've asked this before and I'll ask it again: what does does Dawson Knox do that Jackson Hawes can't at a whole lot cheaper? I know Josh loves Knox and recently said something along the lines of "trusting him with my life" but Knox still struggles to catch the ball. A few times in recent games he's had to fall down in order to secure a catch where a better receiving tight end would have radiused to pluck the ball out of the air and head upfield. I guess it's too late to hope that Knox will ever improve as a ball catcher. Edited 3 hours ago by Sierra Foothills 1 1 Quote

Will Brady adapt if teams go full in against the run? I think so. The truly horrible game Brady had this year was the Texans game. One hopes he learned from that. Once Kincaid is back you’ll have him, Cooks, Shakir, Palmer, and 3 RBs that can all catch the ball. So yeah Ivthink he can piece something together. 1 Quote

But the next time he doesn't say something overly glowing about a teammate or coach will be the first time it happens. He's too much of a Golden Retriever to not love everyone. Even last year when he was calling Ty Johnson the "best 3rd down RB in the NFL". I mean, we all have eyes. He was good but the best? C'mon now lol. Heck, he still hypes Diggs up when asked a question about him. He just doesn't know any other way but to talk positive about others. He is Mr. Brightside. Just now, Warriorspikes51 said: or we just keep 2 solid TE's who can block and make Josh happy Josh advocated for Ken Dorsey publicly. He advocated for Joe Brady publicly. They both got their jobs and everyone said "Gotta make Josh happy". He's been vocally supportive of guys like Keon Coleman. He was in a group of WRs that he publicly talked up before the draft. Maybe it's time to stop making Josh happy and put guys around him that are skilled. If they really want to make Josh happy, how about a move up the draft board for a big time WR? 1 1 Quote

This was in response to my post so I can only surmise it was directed at me. I enjoyed this victory very much and have been pretty consistently positive about this team. But Joe Brady has not proven that he deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to this offense and specifically the passing game. I'll be overjoyed to be proven wrong but my skepticism is well-founded. As always, I'll believe it when I see it. Quote

Pats look pretty vulnerable to the throws over the middle and Josh scrambles on passing plays. Don’t think we did either enough last time and Kincaid had over 100 yards receiving and Josh had over 50 rushing yards. I’d suspect they’ll do a nice job against cook specifically against though.. I don’t think we went as heavy personnel wise against them the first matchup though so it’s possible we do that and run it better Edited 19 minutes ago by Generic_Bills_Fan Quote

billsfan89 Posted 28 minutes ago Posted 28 minutes ago Credit Joe Brady for running the play until they proved they could stop it. So many times OC's even good ones will stop running a successful play for no reason. The Bills had an unstoppable play and just kept running it. No reason to do anything more complex. Quote

I think Knox is more effective getting open in the passing game whereas Hawes is more using the blocking to leak out for passes here and there. But Knox's hands are so bad he's one of the guys that really tests my thesis about hands being maybe the least important part of being a pass catcher. And while Knox is an adequate blocker, Hawes is clearly among the best blocking TEs in the league already. I very much hope Knox is gone this off-season or if kept, is on a huge pay cut, but he's a fine player. Just more of a pretty good #2 TE. 1 Quote
BearNorth Posted 8 minutes ago Posted 8 minutes ago I suspect Hawes is not only a great blocker, but considering he went to both Yale and Ga Tech, He's probably among the smartest guys on the entire roster. Wouldn't be surprised if he turns into a head coach somewhere along the line. I remember a mean tight end named Ditka was a pretty good coach at one time. Quote

They cant do this against most teams in the league. Especially a playoff game. PIT barely did anything to adjust and when they did stack the box they stopped the run. Quote
