there's a distinction between the helmet contact which happens on every play versus using your helmet as a weapon in my eyes

At which point it becomes subjective, not objective.

Pat’s are for real, these are some of the hardest hits I’ve seen all season, although that last one should have drawn a flag. Vrabel has definitely put his stamp on this team.

The rules are even stricter for "defenseless players," which can include runners in certain situations, though the helmet-to-helmet contact rule is designed to prevent most forcible helmet-to-head contact in any case.

It would help if the NFL explicitly told us what the eye in the sky is used for.  It seems to change based on the circumstances of the situation.

The first time we ever saw it used was to wipe out a touchdown in a playoff game.

Do you really want the league to start calling a 15 yrd penalty every time there's helmet contact on a ballcarrier?

That was egregious

it wasnt close to questionable

I’ll ask it again, are we sure mcdaniels/OC didn’t resurrect spygate again? He got busted in Denver for it. Hard for me to believe pats made this kind of jump in one year with new head coach. As a player, the head coach had to know what Ernie Adams and Bill were doing. Did they resort to their training/cheating?

If Mahomes is running he is no longer a defenseless player and he is no longer afforded any extra protection like he would have in the pocket.

That's nice in theory but over the last few years I've seen Mahomes repeatedly take advantage of guys easing up along the sidelines.  I've also seen flags thrown when Mahomes has been hit in bounds in similar situation.  Again, when I see the flag stay in the refs pocket when Mahomes is lit up along the sideline I will believe that the rule is being enforced fairly.

Im 50/50 on it, but in College Football that’s an easy 15 yard penalty and ejection.
