And you guys were all saying Vrabel is garbage.........but look what he's doing with a legit QB at the helm.

They are virtually unstoppable.

If only we had coaching like this.

sigh

I know Terry won't make a change but there is a good chance Tomlin will be available. He's never had a losing season and when he did have a legit QB (Ben) he got past Brady and Manning and won a Super Bowl. Speculation with the media here in the NYC area is the Giants will be very interested if he does leave Pittsburgh.

Currently in the last wild card spot. Odds are at about 90% to make the playoffs. 3 of our 5 games are Cincy, NE and Philadelphia. In order to get the "mini bye" week 18 and be able rest key starters we may need to win them all. May need at least 2 of the 3 just to get in.

With the Jeckyl/Hyde nature of this team, and lack of any downfield passing game, anyone feel good about that?

Our schedule isnt much different or more difficult. The main difference is the Pats show up to every game while the Bills consistently no-show against teams like the Falcons, Dolphins, and Texans.

Highlighting "we played poorly", we sure did and we sure do. While the Pats havent no-showed a single game this year. They stumbled out the gate as young team in their season opener and still kept it a one score game, and had a bunch of fluke fumbles in their other loss and still kept it a one score game. Every other game, they show up and whip the other team. No playing down. No "its tough to win in the NFL". They go out against a weaker team and dominate like they should, week in and week out.

Its a problem. Theyre a problem. The Bills need to get their ***** together and show up like they care without having to wait for Josh to get lit up.

This is somewhat true.

The Bills-Patriots have exactly three games different on their schedules.  Bills got Texans, Chiefs, Eagles.  Patriots got Titans, Raiders, Giants.  That's a pretty significant difference in opponent quality.  Not to mention, they got the Bengals with both Joe Burrow and Jamar Chase out.  We get to play them with both on the field.  We also got the Ravens before all the injuries hit.

At the end of the day, there are no excuses.  The Patriots are going to win the AFC East, because (as you said) we blew it against some very inferior teams.  Not because we had a more difficult schedule.  Take care of business against the Falcons and Dolphins, and things look a lot different for the division.  The Bills seem to be sleepwalking through the season, while the Patriots are focused and playing hard against every single opponent.

The real question is... what happens in a month when the real bullets start flying?  Everybody knows there is a different intensity that level when the postseason hits.

Tomlin is just McD all over again. Same philosophies, same issues hiring coordinators, heck they were even teammates on the same college team.

If/when we move away from McD we need a major change. Either a hot shot young OC, or a more aggressively-minded coach like Vrabel.

You're right about the Bills no showing, and our schedule was easy enough where we really don't have any excuse for not winning the division. But Titans, Raiders, Giants, Flacco vs Texans, Chiefs, Eagles and Burrow is a significant difference.

Wont argue too much, but will point out that we got the Texans without Stroud and with Davis frickin Mills starting and still blew it. That at least balances out the Cincy difference.

Anyways, I hope the boys wake up for this last quarter push. Go Bills!

NE did a good job containing Cook in the first game. Cook had 15 carries for only 49 yards. That will have to change. You know they will focus on stopping Cook as priority number #1 for their defense. As for the passing game it is what it is. We don't have a great group at WR's despite having a great QB.

A great group??  That’s comical to even mention the word great when talking about our receivers.  They border on non existent since Kincaid went down.  He at least opens things up in the middle of the field.

It’s a must that we get them going to a degree over the next few weeks.  We will continue to run against Cinci and NE.  But we will have to mix in some deeper pass plays to keep teams off balance when they stack the box.  Any OC and HC should know that.

And Josh Allen has to dominate w his legs. We have no other choice given how meh the WR group is as a whole.

I love McDermott in these kind of games.  Actually we have two in a row because Cincinnati has had our number in recent years.  I'm sure McD will be fiery this week to get the W.  There will be all kinds of storylines at New England... Bills will want to avenge the SNF loss, Bills and Allen will want to show Drake Maye and Vrabel..."not so fast my friends".  I think Buffalo plays two really inspired games.

The three different opponents are for NE: Raiders, Titans, Giants.  For the Bills:  Chiefs, Texans, Eagles.  And we get the Bengals with Burrow and Chase.

Thats an insane swing of 4 games, even though they did manage to lose to the Raiders opening weekend.

I think they’re good.  You’re allowed to think that.  The schedules however, are about as different as possible for two teams in the same Division.

Given they won by a non-PI being called against Flacco playing hurt, no Chase and in the 2nd half no Higgins, it’s reasonable to think the team were seeing this weekend would’ve beaten them.   Then say they go 1-2 instead of 2-1, against our schedule, well that right there is the difference between Division, maybe 1 seed and WC.

They’re not going away though.  They’ll have a tougher schedule next year, and who knows how their injury situation plays out as they’ve only really lost one big piece in Campbell and that’s only for a few weeks.   But they have a ton of cap, so picture this team with an AJ Brown, Myles Garrett or Justin Jefferson.  They have the ability to be involved with any of the above should they be available.

I don’t think Maye is Stroud or Daniels.  He doesn’t have anything gimmicky in his game where he comes crashing back to earth next year.

I think Tomlin is better than McDermott. Hasn't had a losing season as of now and he did win a Super Bowl with Ben. If he does leave the Steelers, I could see him as the HC of the Giants.

One week at a time please

Coach McDermott, we respectfully ask that you throw some swing passes to Cook as well as sneak him out of the backfield for some quick hitters.  Thank you and good luck this upcoming game.

The rematch should be interesting The Pats more than likely will still have the backups in at LT and LG but IMO what could be a huge difference is the fact while Milton will still be out no matter what, but if Tonga also misses the game do to injury (chest injury missed last nights game) that leaves our 3rd string guy (Durden?) to fill the vacancy that will definitely make it a lot easier for the Bills to run on the Pats D.  Breaking it down:

Bills Run O v Pats Run D — I give the edge to the Bills slightly if Tonga plays and a huge gap if he isn’t able to play

Bills WR v Pats CB — edge Pats IMO not one Bills WR is scary and the Pats CB are decent and have true 1 in Gonzo.

Bills TE V Pats cover LB — HUGE HUGE edge to Bills.. it’s the one area they couldn’t really fix in 1 off season

Pats Run O v Bills Run D — neither are very good IMO I’d make this a wash (but if I’m wrong let me know)

Pats WR v Bills CB — Edge Pats only because Maye is so accurate and your best CB is a rookie…

Pats TE v Bills cover LB — this one is hard for me to judge but Inwill give the Pats TE a slight advantage with Henry having a great year..

special teams — I’m going make it a wash because both are decent and I don’t see the Bills Kicker somehow tripping over himself and missing the ball for a FG try lol

All said It should be another close one. Question is will the Bills turn the ball over like they have been ? Heck will the Pats do that?

Of course I think the Pats will win, but would I be shocked if they lost to the Bills Nope! But I don’t think it will be a cake walk for either team.. it’s weird there are no really “great” AFC team this year.. the Broncos need OT and Mariota to fail on a 2 pt try to beat a terrible Commanders team, the Ravens got manhandled by a middle of the road Bengals team, and the Chiefs lost again and need run the table make the playoffs… so basically I think we can easily say this year ANYONE who makes the dance has a chance to go to the SB..

I think the fact that the Pats will be coming off a bye and at home makes them a prohibitive favorite. The Bills are likely to be playing a tense game on Sunday vs Burrow/Cincy too. And god know what injuries they'll accumulate. There is always something in that regard.

It doesn't matter who the Texans QB is with that defense.  It's that defense that wins for the Texans.  Playing them at home, in prime time makes it harder.

Not likely as that is the one week where both CBS and Fox have a 4:25 game that day and CBS has Green Bay at Denver so would not want to give that up.  Fox doesn't have the best choice of 4:25 games, but doubt that CBS would give it up and the Sunday night game involves Dallas who is always a big draw so not likely NBC would want to give that one up.  Actually CBS has 3 very good early 1:00 games that day, Bills @ NE, Rams @ Chiefs, and Balt @ Bengals so could just as easily argue in favor of flexing the other two also.

Don't know if they flex to Monday night?  That's kind of a dud, Steelers at Miami, but even there, Steelers draw well on TV too.

Chargers @ Chiefs* I don't think KC plays the Rams this year.
