Honestly, based on what’s happened with the Sabres, I’m kind of scared for him to touch the Bills coach/GM too. If the mods don't mind a quick sidebar, would someone mind briefly describing what has happened to the Sabres since Pegula bought the team? Is it more or less the same thing that happened in the Bills drought years, lousy drafting and coaching? I watched Roger Crozier and the French Connection at the Aud when I was a kid, but haven't followed the team since. The Bills give me enough heartburn. Quote

Rockinon Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago I'm glad to have Gabe back. He should be good for a couple of 1st downs. Just need to get some other WRs doing the same. I am really growing tired of seeing those WR screens to Shakir, though. One of those is going to get him killed. Really think there is some talent at the position but the pass concepts don't seem to be used properly to exploit matchups. Hoping Brady is growing as an offensive play caller. He's had some great games and some real stinkers. You learn from your mistakes. Maybe he'll get here....fingers crossed. Quote

GoBills808 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago 2 minutes ago, FireChans said: TBF, that OP is a moron it was a fine move getting a wr2 type that had familiarity w the OC for a reasonable price was step1. step 2 was BTJ which unfortunately morphed into their bad trade down for Coleman but that's life. you cant really account for injuries, nor Brady suddenly not having any use for Samuel (or really any wideout for that matter, another topic lol) 1 Quote

I haven't done any kind of video review, but it seems like the receiver (often Shakir) usually has to wait too long for the ball, often while standing still. Sometimes the trow is a little behind him, too. Makes it really hard to get upfield in a hurry. Quote

But people who do, especially people from the Northeast United States and Canada really overestimate its popularity. Its odd how hockey fans are not able to see why an owner wouldn't sink tons of money into a drowning sport. Quote

For as elusive as he is in space, he's not great at getting open (like most of our WR's). This is compounded by the fact that our core is trash - with teams identifying him as the top guy to roll coverage to. Because of his inability to separate from his man (or men) on routes and his playmaking ability - they run this play a lot just to get the ball in his hands often. Bc if they just relied on him getting open this season, he wouldn't get many touches. Edited 49 minutes ago by BillsFanForever19 Quote

Yes regarding the bubble/flare/laser/tunnel screen... it also often seems like the defense is moving towards the intended receiver while the ball is in the air and isn't it OPI if the bunch starts blocking too soon? Every once in awhile it breaks for a decent gain but I feel like the cost/benefit has been very poor... and it seems like the more you run it the less effective it becomes. Like most of us, I've really grown to despise that play. 1 minute ago, BillsFanForever19 said: A large part of the reason you're seeing that so often is Shakir's own fault. Maybe we're wrong but that's the way it seems to many. Quote

eball Posted 27 minutes ago Posted 27 minutes ago I’m not trying to start yet another “are our WRs trash or not” discussion, but with this week’s transactions the thought did occur to me that given the situation the Bills are in, a corps of Shakir/Palmer/Coleman/Cooks/Davis/Shavers is likely the best we’ve rolled out there this season. Gotta look to the bright side, right? Quote
