I don't know what was behind fan optimism, but when the move was announced, most fans were excited about it and posted as such.

we were getting a wideout who'd had some success w our OC prior

Ā

that was what the optimism was about

No it’s the contract.Ā
Ā

$23M for him and Knox this year. Woof

Could get a mediocre WR1 or pretty darn good 2 for that.Ā

This is my opinion as well. Honestly, based on what’s happened with the Sabres, I’m kind of scared for him to touch the Bills coach/GM too.

If the mods don't mind a quick sidebar, would someone mind briefly describing what has happened to the Sabres since Pegula bought the team? Is it more or less the same thing that happened in the Bills drought years, lousy drafting and coaching?Ā I watched Roger Crozier and the French Connection at the Aud when I was a kid, but haven't followed the team since. The Bills give me enough heartburn.Ā

So what happens if Andy Reid was our coach and McDermott coached the Chiefs?

Ā

I believe if Andy had the same staff here. We would of won at least once in the Diggs years

People want to come on here and call him an idiot.Ā  Who is the bigger idiot the billionaire businessman who wont sink more money into a failing league that has less fans than AEW Wrestling...or the old white guys in the Northeast who still care about the league?

Your hatred towards hockey is interesting.Ā  Can you show us on the doll where the bad hockey man touched you?Ā

In all seriousness there are quite a few fans of hockey.Ā  I get it you don't like it, doesn't make it the bane of all sports, however.Ā  Just saying

I'm glad to have Gabe back. He should be good for a couple of 1st downs. Just need to get some other WRs doing the same. I am really growing tired of seeing those WR screens to Shakir, though. One of those is going to get him killed. Really think there is some talent at the position but the pass concepts don't seem to be used properly to exploit matchups. Hoping Brady is growing as an offensive play caller. He's had some great games and some real stinkers. You learn from your mistakes. Maybe he'll get here....fingers crossed.

Josh needs to audible out of any and all bubble screens from now on

I would guess that quite a few of them are actually checked into

This contract is like a bad car loanĀ

Ā

No matter how long you pay there's always multiple years leftĀ

Ā

That said, exciting to see Gabe on the 53!

TBF, that OP is a moronĀ

it was a fine move

Ā

getting a wr2 type that had familiarity w the OC for a reasonable price was step1. step 2 was BTJ which unfortunately morphed into their bad trade down for Coleman but that's life. you cant really account for injuries, nor Brady suddenly not having any use for Samuel (or really any wideout for that matter, another topic lol)

I would also offer that the bubble screen is a throw that Josh and his receivers don't seem to time very well. I haven't done any kind of video review, but it seems like the receiver (often Shakir) usually has to wait too long for the ball, often while standing still. Sometimes the trow is a little behind him, too. Makes it really hard to get upfield in a hurry.Ā

I dont care about hockey.Ā  Ā But people who do, especially people from the Northeast United States and Canada really overestimate its popularity.Ā  Its odd how hockey fans are not able to see why an owner wouldn't sink tons of money into a drowning sport.

Ā

A large part of the reason you're seeing that so often is Shakir's own fault.

Ā

For as elusive as he is in space, he's not great at getting open (like most of our WR's). This is compounded by the fact that our core is trash - with teams identifying him as the top guy to roll coverage to.

Ā

Because of his inability to separate from his man (or men) on routes and his playmaking ability - they run this play a lot just to get the ball in his hands often. Bc if they just relied on him getting open this season, he wouldn't get many touches.

Yes regarding the bubble/flare/laser/tunnel screen... it also often seems like the defense is moving towards the intended receiver while the ball is in the air and isn't it OPI if the bunch starts blocking too soon?

Ā

Every once in awhile it breaks for a decent gain but I feel like the cost/benefit has been very poor... and it seems like the more you run it the less effective it becomes.

Ā

Like most of us, I've really grown to despise that play.

I'm gonna go with the majority of people who believe the over-reliance on that play is because the OC sucks. Maybe we're wrong but that's the way it seems to many.
