Did my fair share of 3:00 a.m. rise and shines on Black Fridays in the ‘90’s for our boys. Usually for video games. Never saw or had an encounter, never did not get what I sought. I did it as a teen for concert tickets, almost always sat floor or Golds seats at “The Aud”.

Is Black Friday even that big of a thing anymore? Don't most people do their black friday shopping online now?

Not really, there's so many sales during November of Early Black Friday Deals, and online shopping like you mentioned, it's not even worth it in my opinion. 

 

Saw a video earlier today from someone that went to Lowes for their Mystery Bucket giveaway. Looked to be about $50 worth of stuff in there plus a 20% off coupon.

These Black Friday shoppers are seeing red.

Walmart customers were left fuming after finding out Kraft’s new limited-edition “Mac Friday Box” had sold out in seconds.

The novelty item, designed to look like a 65-inch flat-screen, featured 65 boxes of classic Kraft Mac & Cheese inside and went on sale on the Walmart website at midnight Friday.

It seems the sales now start right around Labor Day. They are determined to give us too much of a good thing with an amazing stretching exhibition, like most other “holidays”. And no, the wife does not rush out to the stores, it mostly happens thru the magic of her iPad and stuff just shows up at the door a few ours later.

Yeah that's pretty much what I thought it was nowadays. But I was never really into the Black Friday shopping thing at any point in my life so don't have much first hand knowledge on the shopping trends

Jersey Gardens Mall in Elizabeth is definitely one exception to the argument malls are dying in 2025.

 

Was a line up off the Turnpike this morning to get there and a couple weekends ago I couldn’t even find a parking place there I just decided to leave.

I've gone there since it opened in 2000 and it's a pretty good consistent place if one ever needs in an update in their wardrobe.  Even the most high end store there 5th Ave for clothes sells stuff like Moschino at fairly reasonably prices.  

 

 

It's in Elizabeth next to Newark and the Newark Airport so it's great location.  

 

 

Plus right across the Bayonne and Goethals Bridges nearby is Staten Island or New York City.  Jersey doesn't charge tax on certain clothes sales while NYC does.  Maybe NY state does?  But yeah that brings people across the river there as well me hypothesizes
