Game week thread - Bills at Steelers

In the recent past , this is a game the Bills would win handily. It’s become clear they just aren’t that team anymore.

I don’t know how to give a crap about this game or much of the rest of the season.   The less I care, the less easy it is for them to disappoint me. 
 

This is unquestionably the worst I’ve felt about this regime since they got here, and I believe it’s only going to get worse before it gets better

Team is still in this.  Given the negative posts, I checked the league rankings in offense and defense.  In just about all categories the Bills are a top 5 offense and about a 17th ranked defense.  It is clear that the team can win, and the biggest problem is turnovers-- we started giving them and stopped taking them.  Can we just see how the next six games turn out and stop the effing whining?  It is beneath the general toughness of my hometown.

A lot of people who have this opinion do not know the definition of "fair-weather fan."

 

A fair-weather fan is someone who only follows a team when they are good, but ignores them and stops watching games when they're bad. That's not what's happening here.

 

People are rightfully criticizing the organization for roster mismanagement and uninspired play. You being an eternal homer doesn't make you a better fan than those who choose to be realistic.

I'm not an eternal homer.  I'm just not a whiner.  Constructive criticism is great, but that's not what we have here.  It's really sad.

On the positive side, we come in with a few extra days to rest and prepare. I think this game is the calm before the 💩 show. We win this one easily. 31-13.

 

Then turn around and get squashed by the Bengals, Patriots and Browns.

A couple weeks ago when we were all predicting the schedules I had us going 1-1 @Houston and @Pittsburgh.   I will stick with that and hope the extra rest and urgency will get us over the hump..  But there's no way we are going into Pittsburgh and dominating the trenches on both sides,  so they are going to need a takeaway or two...and some splash plays on offense.

this team just lost to the 21st ranked Offense...that was starting their backup QB.

I'm not saying they should try to lose. I'm just thinking from a future perspective that it's probably better if they do. This team is devoid a talent and bloated with bad contracts. It needs a reset. Be realistic. This team is not winning a superbowl this year. If every player was 100% healthy, it still wouldn't win a superbowl this year. At best this team will win a wildcard game. At worst, they just miss the playoffs and still draft at the bottom of the draft.

TJ Watt is likely salivating ... The Bills O-Line just played matador with the Texans giving up 8 sacks and our starting RT is now out. Maybe they'll double team Watt with Van Demark and Hawes.

I'm sincerely asking

What constitutes as whining?  Is it Critique?  Is calling the team out on its inconsistent play whining or is it a fact that is right there for all to see?  Is it being frustrated by all the injuries and concerned that it may be the downfall of the season?  

Im asking because I have all these kind of thoughts and I have been a fan for as long as I can remember. Lived in Buffalo and am proud of all

of it.

Please.  Stop insulting the fans.  That is the issue.  The issues the team has experienced this season were issues known and discussed by the fanbase all offseason (and last offseason).  We are not idiots.  And when Beane went on the air in August and basically goaded the fanbase by saying he's smarter than we are, because he found the "Right Josh" and basically said, stop questioning me, he brought this on himself.  Buffalo Bills fans can put up with a lot, and they're wiling to reach into their pockets and spend a higher percentage of their disposable income on the product than most fanbases, so long as they're not insulted by the organization.  Brandon Beane committed the cardinal sin - insulting the fans' intelligence - and he did so at a time when the issues facing the team were obvious to most of us and when they were asking us to dig into our pockets to buy PSLs for the new (largely taxpayer-funded) stadium.  (And not for nothing, Sabres fans have been insulted by Pegula for like a decade.)
