There were a lot of rumors that he was going to be the selection if he made it to the Bills pick the year they took Dalton Kincaid. There were also rumors that he was available to be traded for this past offseason season but not sure how serious that was. He would be in his 4th year of his rookie contract with the 5th year option so the Bills would have control for two years. He would be an instant upgrade to our WR corps and possibly be our # 1 WR. He looks like he has absolutely no chemistry with J.J. McCarthy who frankly has been terrible and they have already sunk 30+ a year with Jefferson. Have sunk decent money into Hockenson, and drafted Tai Felton in the 3rd round who is a very similar WR to Addison Might have to dip back into the Minnesota well for our future WR 1 again. Just a thought I had tonight AJ Brown might be, too. Lol Quote

Are you saying he was worth what he was paid this year? If you are, you might be the only person on the planet outside of him, his agent and his family that agree. He was terrible this year. If he continues playing the rest of his career the way he did this year, people will definitely have harsh words for him. Playoffs: Justin Jefferson has had 2 playoff games where he didn't perform in the bottom . AJ Brown had has 13 playoff games. Jordan Jefferson's worst playoff game, would have been AJ Brown's 6th best. You're bad at this. Quote

B I N G O Especially with the owner being the guy in charge during the Love Boat Cruise thingy with Fred Smoot. GM could very well be forced to unload him against his wishes. Stack that on top of not being able to afford two top WR's, on a roster with no QB. I truly think he goes for no more than a 4th, maybe less. Could even be a 5th and later year 7th kinda deal. We need to be on this like flies on s*** Quote
billsfan89 Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Addison is too much of a liability off the field. If it was for a 5th rounder or something very low I think it would be worth the risk but there's no way the Bills should give up anything more than a later pick for him, he's already had multiple line steps and he appears to be a habitual line stepper. There's going to be some options on the table for a WR in the trade process so I would largely be OK with just looking elsewhere unless the cost was super cheap. 1 Quote

Agree with this, and, even more, he's not a true #1. We don't just a need another starting WR, we need TWO, and they need to be IMPACT guys, not just a low end starter. I would be fine with Addison as a #2 at low cost, but we would need another significant addition at WR (either getting a #1 in free agency/trade or moving up in the first round). Realistically we won't have enough cap for two veterans so hopefully we get a legit #1 via trade (in the waddle or olave territory) and then draft another one in the first or second round. That probably rules out Addison, but there are plenty of scenarios for us to to get two difference makers at receiver this offseason. I don't care how it happens but it's an absolute must. Enough messing around at WR. Beane better had learned his lesson. It's embarrassing at this point. Edited January 16 by vtnatefootball11 1 Quote

Secondary options would be someone like BTJ from Jax and MHJ from AZ. Pickens is a head case. I would be scared giving him a long deal but doubt he is a culture fit and Dallas will tag him so won’t be an option. AJ Brown is a tough one but is going to turn 29 and who knows whether he will look for a new contract. I don’t want to be on the wrong side when he hits his decline like Diggs and don’t see him as a fit in Brady’s offense. Mike Evans could work as short term solution but it starts with Jefferson for me. Will need at least one via FA/Trade and another via the Draft. Zero chance even if Addison was a Nobel Peace Humanitarian Award winner...... with Addison pissing them off as much as he has, no way they move JJ. Just cant afford to dump NFL WR1 & at minimum the best #2 in the league.... who i personally think has serious WR1 potential Quote

If the Bills could trade a 5th for Addison I still then would think the Bills need some help at WR. I would still knock on NOLA's door for Olave or the Eagles for AJ Brown to get a true WR 1 but a low cost pickup of Addison would give the Bills a nice starting point at WR. Assuming Samuel is cut and Gabe and Shavers are just signed back to IR the Bills would have if they traded for Addison the following WR room. Addison/Palmer/Shakir/Keon, there's still a need for a WR1 there but it is in much better shape and all it cost was a 5th round pick and the cap commitment on a player on the last year of their rookie deal is low. The Bills can then move for a game setting WR and still have the flexibility and assets to do so. 1 Quote

Im absolutely doing a 4th, and probably even a 3rd if they send something back. Lock that in, or a similar type move, and then Id want to mix and match with a Rookie WR. If someone like Tyson drops to 15th'ish (injury history), you go up and get the guy.... if not you let the board play out. Picking around 28-32 there are probably a few similar WR's that you could afford to drop back a bit, recoup some draft capital, and then take another swing in 3rd-4th rd. Unload Keon for whatever. Trey Lances brother is EXTREMELY interesting to me around 3rd/4th rd. Massive potential, but needs some coaching up. The room needs a complete overhaul, and this accomplishes it quick. Its time to showcase our prized possession in "the only QB in history." Edited January 16 by BillsShredder83 1 Quote
