Shhhhhhh we have to go from the narrative that Keon is slow and can't separate because there's no way our GOAT QB can have an off day. We need a scape goat and the majority have chosen to make Keon just that.

Coleman was close to useless on Sunday. I was one of his biggest supporters in the draft process so it gives me no pleasure to admit this. He's jogging on a lot of his routes. He's slow off the line and not where he needs to be when Allen gets to the top of his drop. He doesn't make good adjustments to the ball in the air. He had one good play against Miami's #4 CB. Good for him. The rest of the game he showed poor effort and poor technique. Best case scenario is he flushes this season and comes back a new man next year. The more likely scenario unfortunately is that he is just a major bust.

If he was ever going to have a good game,  it should be this weekend.  Tampa Bay's pass defense stinks and he should get more opportunities with the injuries to Kincaid and Shakir.

I have never seen this fanbase turn on a player like this. Ever. This level of vitriol is usually reserved in Buffalo for tall defensemen who don't like to hit.

It's nowhere near as bad as during the Rob Johnson years.

You’re confused my friend.

Oh now I see, no you're actually confused.  The topic is what will be the stats with Coleman on Sunday, so I was saying if Davis is ready then COLEMAN should be inactive. You misinterpreted.  Now we are on the same page.

I'm usually a rose colored glasses guy, but Coleman has been crap for most of this year. The Miami game was horrendous. He had one good catch. There were three other similar ones where he was just horrible - like putting a high school kid out there. Didn't come back to the ball, in the wrong spot, not where Josh expected. I love that Josh as a leader doesn't call out players in public - that is a sign of a good leader, btw - but behind closed doors I hope that Josh is beating the ***** out of him. It's only year two, but he's looking like a major bust.

Like I said, I'm a rose-colored glasses guy, but I think Coleman should be inactive for a game or two to see if he gets the message. He's doing nothing out there, so what is the point?

Everything you mentioned in your assessment is accurate. It also unfortunately seems like he has work ethic issues. He was benched a quarter of a game this year and my memory is foggy but thought he had the same happen last year. Might be remembering wrong though.

I, personally, think that his time here is short winding down. Seeing the way both McDermott and Allen chose their words very carefully about him....I don't think he's on solid footing. It wouldn't shock me to see him traded this off-season.

Yeah I don't think it's wise to flush the season away cuz we might need him sometime to make a play and call it foolish but have hope he'll step up in the moment.

Yeah nah. Other opinions aside and appreciated with all due respect, I think Marino got it right on the 2 deep plays he talked about with KC. Again, struggling player, not living up to expectations, etc etc. All that is true, but I’m sticking with Joe here. . It matches what I saw.

You can watch the play yourself. Coleman is lined up at the bottom:

Yeah he's half assing that route. Could a perfect throw have gotten past the flat defender gaining depth, sure. That doesn't excuse Coleman's effort here though. This isn't an instance of separation, he's just running through a zone uncontested.

Bucs are the weakest team vs outside aligned WRs that we have faced since Baltimore. Keon has his problems, but I think he gets over 70 yards this week if he gets his normal snap count. Mack Hollins just put up 106 on them last week

Interesting granted PFF is questionable but Dean is #1 rated CB and McCollum the 15th. I can’t imagine bills will have a more favorable matchup then last week vs dolphins backup secondary

I can see them grading well individually but the scheme allows for opportunity. The Bucs blitz at a high rate and many of those blitz’s involve a secondary player. Despite the blitz’s their pressure rate is below average. So they have given up the 11th most passing yards, including the 10th most 20+ yard gains and the 4th most 40+ yard gains (so when they whiff they whiff hard).

Miami is a pretty comparable team to the Bucs on defense, high blitz rate, passing results are very similar. I still think the Bills beat themselves that game. There should be many opportunities if Josh handles the blitz well and takes the deep shots that will be there.

Big game…a gotta have it game for the young man.

What does Keon do for this one?

I’ll go to bat for him one more time and say 9 grabs, 97 yards and 2 TD’s.

Keon…were lookin’ right at you bud.  Show up

I'll take some of what you're having. On a cold, wet, crappy day? 3 for 37 and a fumble.

In your profile pic, you're not wearing any glasses.

It’s going to be hilarious to see how fast people abandon Gabe Davis right after selling him as some magic elixer.

Spoiler alert: Keon Coleman aside, this offense will not have ANY measurable or perceived difference if you were to just simply swap Keon and Gabe.

While we’re at it, bring back Isiah McKenzie to replace Curtis Samuel and we’ll be all set.
