I saw an article that said he played a similar role for the Rams that Hoecht played, so most likely, yes.  He has been a pretty productive player.  He signed a 2 year $8.5 million deal with the Falcons before the season, but he was a surprise cut as part of a youth movement on Defense by the Falcons. 
 

Not sure why he was still available, but I am glad he was!

He's made almost 20 million in his career. He may have wanted to wait for the right situation. He has excelled on the Rams and Chargers but struggled on the Panthers and got cut from the Falcons. He knows that fit matters.

Seems like age and scheme fit.  Not a 3 tech.  Not really an edge.  Seems like a poor mans Hoecht.  Dont hate it if they want to keep that going.  I think Sanders in the Oliver role on passing downs will be primary focus.
