McD said in meeting with the media this morning that Taron had a "yellow flag" overnight that they wanted to be cautious with so he would be Limited today in practice when asked if Taron had a setback as to why he was being downgraded from Full to Limited.

This is the kind of shakeup the roster needs. But it might be worth experimenting with Coleman in the slot, backing up Shakir and giving Allen a bigger target (albeit one with the separation ability of a startled sheep).

I hope Davis gets called up. Hardman could spend some more time learning the O. 

But it will be really strange if neither of them play this Sunday

Would be disastrous to have both nickel players out.

Cam missed a tackle resulted in Achane 40 yard+ touchdown.  Taron is horrible in coverage and yet Cam cannot tackle...

I'm irrationally excited about seeing a different grouping w/ the WR corps on Sunday.  Getting Palmer back - maybe seeing Davis or Hardman or both.  It's one of those things where it literally can't be worse than what we've seen, and is likely to be better.  Maybe significantly better.

 

And that could change our fortunes this season.  Getting some semblance of a passing game back, and staying healthier the rest of the way - both could go a long way toward giving us a shot to still win the division, get the 1 seed and make a strong run in the playoffs.

Hooper is 31

Bradbury is 30

 

Carlton Davis is 29

 

Spillane is 30. Landry has has had multiple knee injuries. They just lost Milton Williams. Morgan Moses is like 34

Agreed. As I said, I don't think the Bills need a personnel rebuild, just new leadership to invigorate the current roster, which is almost there. McBeane also need a fresh start. They might be able to take another team to the Super Bowl, but their time here has played out. If they stay, we'll just see more of the same until Allen retires or leaves, when finally Pegula might be ready to try something new. 

 

I'm talking in terms of certainties, but as always it's a matter of probabilities. This team could win the Super Bowl if things fall a certain way, but I think it's pretty unlikely. The patterns we all see deepen every year, making it increasingly difficult to break. For example, McDermott doesn't seem to want coordinators who threaten his authority, so he hires from within, which may be why they're more junior-varsity quality. And Beane obsesses on the d-line and treats the wide receiver position as an afterthought. Both might wake up to the evidence that they've been wrong, but the meta-pattern is that they're slow learners.

Other than that one tackle Cam was actually really good against the Dolphins.

 

Making a broad sweeping statement like "Cam cannot tackle" is like saying "Cole Bishop sucks!" because he missed that tackle against Derrick Henry on the sideline for the long TD in week 1

Me too... I don't think it's rational at all, but getting Davis and Palmer in the lineup (I think/hope) is going to be a world of difference to our passing game.

 

Just watch Gabe Davis's highlights from last year with Jacksonville

 

In terms of effort alone, give me that over Keon Coleman all day every day of the week.  Add to that the fact that Josh has been using the word "trust" SO MUCH week after week after week and Gabe is probably a guy Josh trusts so much as a WR that we've actually criticized him for it over Gabe's last couple seasons.  

 

I just think even that Gabe we heavily criticized in 2022 and 2023 is a much better option than Coleman at the X.  It's why I actually think he's signed to the active roster this week and Keon is inactive on Sunday.

Also... no one posted yet, but Irving and Godwin are OUT on Sunday along with Reddick and Bredesen.

Interesting because everyone kept saying Irving and possibly Godwin would be playing this week.  No gamesmanship on Bowles's part in even listing them as questionable or doubtful.

Moore can be active because I think the effort is there and he can take over Shakir's role if Shakir needs to come out of the game from ribs/ankle

I agree with you!

The only thing different IMO is they do have a good RB room - potentially better than ours. Different style runners. They have "bashers", we have a porsche in Cook.

 

And yes, Maye is solid. Makes me cringe to think Josh is back to sugar-rush Josh. Maye just doesn't have that in him.

 

Anyway, we will see as we move forward starting with this weekend. Need a big win by our Bills.

Bills by a billion this week. Book it! 

 

This game is nowhere near as important to the Bucs as it is to us. That division is awful and they have a ton of injuries. This is one they'll just want to get past and never really think of again. 

 

This is going to be a steamroller of angry Bills players and coaches tired of being written off and criticized, miserable weather, Bills badly needing a W and the Bucs more so "meh" in terms of the effect on their season, and the biggest equalizer in sports: the NFL narrative buster effect. 

 

I've often thought that football especially is such a mental game and these players are all the best of the best, even on so-so teams and even the backups. What makes great teams and players great is consistent focus and execution. That's where the narrative buster effect comes in. 

 

Player A has been distracted, not totally into it, maybe not always giving his all. He hears it week after week until it hits a boiling point: Player A needs to be benched. He's a bust! 

 

So he locks in. He's already one of the most physically gifted athletes on the planet, or he would not be in the NFL. But now pride kicks in and he goes 100% into the game prep. As a result, he has a great game. Narrative busted, and everyone is so shocked. 

 

Same thing with teams overall. Fire the coach! OC is terrible! Defense can't stop the run! They're having a fire sale! It's going to be a cakewalk!

 

And a 6-2 perennial contender gets dominated and blown out by a 2-7 team that just fired its GM and traded one of its best players. 

 

It's because not everyone is focused 100% all the time. When they are, LOOK OUT.
