Two things.  The Bills D line to put pressure and contain Mahomes.  Allen to get his head right and trust his teammates.  Those two things will put the Bills in position to win.

I love that Steve Smith quote about Keon, and that Keon saw that.  If he doesn't dig in tomorrow with absolutely fierce "how ya like me now?" energy, then he probably won't pan out. I think he has it in him, though.

Considering how banged up our D is, I think McD is going to want the offense to eat up some TOP as per usual.  So I expect to see a lot of Cook against the Chiefs' average run D.

 

I also expect Brady to dial up an underneath pass game relying heavily on Kincaid and, especially, Shakir.  With Palmer out, I don't expect Brady to suddenly figure out how to scheme a downfield passing attack and am, sadly, not expecting much from our wideouts.  

 

I wouldn't be surprised to see Josh run more this game - as in RPOs as well as scrambles.  

 

I don't really expect a big game from anyone on defense though I hope I'm wrong.  Bosa with multiple sacks, maybe, hopefully?

It really is a "prove it" game for Coleman. He wants to succeed, the team wants him to succeed. If he doesn't perform tomorrow, the fat lady is warming up.

I don't know that at this stage in his career Keon is able to succeed playing as a dedicated X against a good D, if that is what they intend. In terms of physical attributes, including a slow 40, I think of him like A. Boldin, who did line up outside. But Boldin came to the NFL as a more polished product after a successful career at FSU and was known to be a good route runner. Keon is raw as talents go,

Agree. He's more of a basketball player playing football. That can work, but it limits him, or at least his particular skill set is limited, I would say to jump balls. He can climb the ladder and bring it down like no one else. But he hasn't seen many balls like that. Instead, Allen (or Brady via Allen) feeds him a steady diet of outside-shoulder throws on comeback routes, or has him turn and sit down in the zone, hoping he'll break a tackle and go. He excels at neither. In fact, he is particularly bad at both. For some reason, he doesn't or can't box out in the first case and, in the second case, he catches with his body. 

 

In short, he might be a receiver who is extraordinary at one thing and pedestrian at best at everything else. You can't ask him to separate, run a wide range of routes, or even make routine catches with much consistency or YAC. But he can sky for the ball, maybe like no one in the league. If we can see this, why can't Brady?

 

Of course, if we can see Cook is the only weapon on offense besides Allen, why can't Brady? Are we seeing a pattern?

It would seem Chiefs have too many weapons this time.   Bills don't have the personnel any more to cover them all. 

 

If Bills can run the ball and the clock while scoring TDs, they can win.   

 

If Mahomes lights up the weak Bills back 7 and they get a quick 14-O or so lead, then the whole thing pretty much falls apart.  

 

 

But everyone was predicting a Chiefs win in the regular season last year and the Bills pulled it out, so who knows?
