Isn’t it true though, that division titles and home playoff wins have become passe since Josh Allen became elite around 2020 or so? As our expectations have legitimately climbed to Super Bowl level, the importance of anything less has diminished. If the Bills cannot win a road playoff game then we are simply spinning our wheels. I’ll admit I don’t even care that much about an AFCE title anymore ( I used to for sure) and am much more in the “prove it “camp these days. We’ve lost to the Chiefs in the playoffs both home and away. Maybe. If they manage it well and have good drafts. No it's not passe and I have no idea what you are talking about. Nothing has diminished to me. Each year is it's own season and the first goal is to win the division so you start the playoffs at home. Your prove it comment makes you sound like a snob or a super ignorant fan who has no idea what you are watching and no understanding of the league. 13 minutes ago, DapperCam said: Dane Jackson, Poyer, Phillips, Tre White, Gabe Davis, what year is it? this sadly means Taron Johnson is probably out. I thought they would elevate jimmy ciarlo since thompson is out but apparently they will need to make up for taron johnson's loss also. I have never seen a defense get injuries like this before. Guys are getting hurt 3 or 4 days a week this season. Camp started with a ton of injuries and it has not stopped. 2 Quote

quincy Posted 16 hours ago Posted 16 hours ago Buffalo's call ups are on D and KC's are on O, both HC's needing a bit of help on their preferred side of the ball. 1 Quote

Another AFCE title is meaningless at this point in JA’s career. It’s doubtful they were going to end up the 1 seed anyway, even with all the preseason speculation. It will probably be the Chiefs or possibly the Colts in the coveted slot for the post season. Sorry I disagree. That AFCE title is very meaningful. I want to grow my collection of hats. Plus its at least 1 guaranteed home game. 1 1 Quote

Not to say he hasn't shown anything in practice. I wouldn't know. But this is less about him earning it and more about him being the only real option. Jones isn't going to play. All we have on the active roster at DT is Deone Walker, Larry Ogunjobi, and Jordan Phillips. So we needed a body. We've exhausted all 3 of Zion Logue's call up's before the Playoffs, so he wasn't an option. It was either Mathis or a 7th Round Rookie we just signed on Tuesday and has only practiced 3 times with the team in Tommy Akingbesote. Edited 15 hours ago by BillsFanForever19 1 2 Quote

Success Posted 14 hours ago Posted 14 hours ago Reminder, fellas (and ladies): once again, our team is one of 2 teams in THE marquee game not just of this Sunday, but of the season. And it is always a classic, and anyone out there who is a fan of football will be watching. Wasn't that long ago we were stuck in 1:00 game every Sunday, that only our fans & fans of the other team watched. These are the good times. 2 6 Quote

The defense is depending on guys like Dane Jackson, Tre White and PS DTs to hold down teams like the Chiefs. The passing game is broken and Josh isn’t being Josh this season. The GM can’t fix it, he has proven time and time again that he’s in over his head. The guy hasn’t been able to fix the defense since Frazier was here, and now he broke the offense. He still can’t admit that the WR room is a problem Edited 13 hours ago by PauleeeWalnuts 1 1 Quote

sven233 Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago There are so many thoughts on this game and how it could go. And honestly, I can see just about every outcome myself. While I don't see a road to us blowing them out, I think every other outcome is on the table. A close win, a close loss, or a blowout loss. As I sit here now, I am leaning towards a probable loss. I just think we are too banged up and out of sync on offense to beat them. Could we win? Of course we can. It's football and these teams know each other so well. But I think that, as much as Brady downplays it, and Beane laughs it off, the need for a real WR (more like 2 real WRs) is just too glaring and I think there is a chance we really get exposed tomorrow on the outside. Not sure what Coleman's yardage number is, but I am hammering the under. He may catch a ball or 2, but it is going to be for modest yardage. A screen or 2.....maybe a slant if they are feeling frisky, but I see nothing for him down the field. And with Palmer out, we just don't have anyone they have to worry about down the field. Sure, Shakir could get a few balls, but I think the WR production, like it has pretty much all season, is going to be nonexistent. In the passing game, I think our success will have to be with our TEs and RBs. Unfortunately, Brady has forgotten about Cook as a receiver with no targets in the last 3 games and 1 in the last 4 or something like that. That's not going to get it done. But yeah....I see the Chiefs stacking the box to stop Cook, pressing our WRs, blitzing a ton forcing our WRs to have to win and win quick. And that is probably not going to go well if the last few weeks are any indication....and I think they are. However, while I don't have huge expectations for tomorrow, a lot can change by the end of the season. That said, I am using this game to give the Chiefs a taste of their own medicine. What usually happens in recent years is that we go all out during the regular season to do whatever it takes to pull out a win while the Chiefs seem to take what we do, formulate a plan, and change their approach in the Playoffs to show us stuff we didn't see in the regular season meeting. So, my plan is to do a little of that ourselves tomorrow. While it sounds like a terrible idea for our chances to win tomorrow, and it may seem like I am throwing him under the bus, I am having Babich call the entire game on defense. I don't want any input from McDermott. Just let Babich do what he wants and what happens, happens. BUT, in doing so, I am making the call now that McDermott calls the entire game in the Playoffs if/when we meet. It is very obvious that when McDermott calls the plays on defense, it looks much different on the field. So, save that for the Playoffs. Every time we play them in the Playoffs, we never show anything different. We do the same things we do in the regular season because we have had success against them, but the Chiefs are too good at adjusting. You almost need 2 entirely different game plans and approaches to have a chance so this is one way to do it. Will this happen? Of course not! I say all this is a semi-joking manner, but the premise is right. Whatever happens tomorrow.....win, loss, great defense, bad defense, great offense, bad offense, whatever it is.......flush it. Do something completely different in the Playoffs if we see them again. Quote

That said, I am still hoping he is ready to start tapping into that potential that he showed in college. 53 tackles, 9 sacks, 13 TFL’s for ‘Bama in ‘21. Team captain and Second team all SEC. The upside is there. 3 Quote
EmotionallyUnstable Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Is the Dane elevation Taron related? Considering he is a boundary player, idk how he factors into the equation if TJ can’t go. You’d likely get Cam Lewis at the nickel, so Danes elevation is just for pure DB numbers? Seems unnecessary since we’d already have Hairston Tre Ingram and Benford. Given the recent injuries and reoccurring issues at LB, I was expecting a depth elevation there. It’ll be Dorian and Andreesen fully healthy, with Bernard and Milano just returning from injury. Seems shallow but I suppose no much less so than boundary CB Quote

First I went back and edited the original post. What I meant to type was that we are currently in a rare era where we can seriously compete for the SB. My point is that I’m not sure division titles and home playoff wins will amount to much in the end to Bills fans. A Super Bowl is all that matters while we have Josh Allen. Quote
