All of NFL history shows they'll fall back

A 2nd year QB with more tape, and older skill players well past their prime outside Henderson that will wear down late in the year.

Vrabel is a good coach but he's also not Bill Walsh or Andy Reid. He's a meathead

McDaniels is a joke

Diggs is 32

Hollins is 32

Henry is 30

Hooper is 31

The center and rt are 34 and 30. And Moses is always hurt late in the year.

They just lost Milton Williams...

They are not a very physical football team that is built for December and January.

Dear god, do you think we are a physical defensive team?  I think we may be the least physical defensive team in the league, other than having Dione Walker and Joey Bosa, who both can lay the wood, there sure ain't much physicality.  Our LB's are pathetic, especially Bernard.  Heck the Jets defense is way more physical than ours.  Their problem is they have the worst passing QB starting in the NFL, who also probably could not even read a high school defense.  He looks that confused most of the time.

Sure we are physical on the O line.  But that is mitigated by our weak WR group.  And lack of emotion and passion throughout the roster.  And pretty marginal coaching.

That's one thing that really struck me last night - at least half of his completions were to guys that were wide open.  Like, wide open.

It's wild watching a game like that, because we never see the same w/ the Bills.  Josh is lucky to get a few plays where receivers are that open, and usually it's because of a broken coverage.

The worst part was those "wide open guys" were usually Diggs and Hollins. If only we could find WRs like them...

Yes Allen did

He started out bad and finished strong vs Miami

In the beginning of 19 he was very inconsistent and really settled down after the pats game. He then had a passer rating of like over 100 for many weeks until the Baltimore game.

In 2020 he started extremely fast and then had a month of blah football. He then went on a heater until Baltimore in the playoffs.

In 21 it was very inconsistent including the 9-6 game.

22 throughout 23 was also other adjustments to 2 high and tons of zone.

Every QB goes through it. Some come out of it still great like Allen. Some are good like Carr, other fold like Wentz . Some QBs never even get going like losman or Zack Wilson

Mahomes had 2 months of regression in 21. And again in 23 and 24

You are really in denial and playing the hoping and praying game.

True but I hate to say it, but I think a lot of the  Credit really belong to Josh McDaniels.

Bernard is obviously not healthy.

When they're, they held Derrick Henry to 9 carries for 22 yards in the 1st half vs Baltimore in the playoffs. Outside a 3rd qtr drive, he did nothing

They just manhandled KC

Dorian Williams is one of the most violent physical lbs in the NFL.

You're mistaking volume stats for physicality. You're also being a prisoner of the moment

If Bernard is not healthy, he should not be playing.  He isn't good enough on one and a half legs.  Williams is Ok, but overruns plays and can't play pass coverage.  And if he so violent and physical why isn't he playing ahead of Bernard or Milano?  Neither of who are worth a flip any longer.

I agree 💯

They need to put Bernard on ir to heal up. He's clearly hurt and looks nothing like the playmaking lb he was last year or 23

When Thompson and Williams played versus Carolina they were extremely physical versus run....

First of all, McDaniels is no joke. He's got the best resume for an OC probably in league history: 3 SB wins, 3 SB losses (one where Brady threw for 500 yards), 175 career wins as an OC, 18-8 in the playoffs, at 49 years old. Receivers running wide open all over the field every week. Yeah he sucks.

Vrabel's career record as a HC is 63-47, 2-3 in the playoffs, and by all accounts a natural leader. Having a bunch of 30-ish starters is great for January football, it's exactly why the Pats went out and got those guys. And Milt Williams turned his ankle, he'll be 100% within 2 weeks.

What is this "tape" you speak about? Is that what's causing DC's to get ulcers each week as they get a look at Maye?

Physical? Do the Bills look more physical than this NE team, now or when they lost to the Pats?

McDaniels is a joke imo. Brady is the reason for his resume. His career outside Brady is kind of silly honestly

As for the pats beating the bills.

I think buffalo and Baltimore are going to eviscerate the pats in Dec and the pats will fall back

Buffalo beat themselves vs the pats earlier in the year....

If maye is legit, I think the pats will be a more serious contender next year.

Nothing he said was wrong.  He said Vrabel was a good coach, and I agree he's a great leader & culture guy. He's not the football mind that a guy like Belichick was, though.  I think he had his flaws in TN, and his most successful years there were also a product of having great coordinators.

McDaniels is more responsible for the success right now, imo.  The offensive schemes are really helping Maye succeed.  I would love, love, love to see a team  like the Giants hire him as HC.

And DC's are likely to adjust better to Maye as time goes on. As that poster said, history has more examples of QB's that looked poised to climb to the top regress, because eventually some of their tendencies were exposed and defenses adjusted.

I'm impressed w/ what the Pats have done this year, but it wouldn't shock me a bit if they have a worse record next year.   The hype they're getting right now is largely due to the easy schedule.

Still, there are plenty of posts on this board - a Bills board - praising the Patriots and dooming about the future of the Bills, if that's what you're looking for.

I get annoyed by usurper teams! It's our turn dammit!

I know that's not how it works, but it's one thing to lose to Mahomes or Burrow or even Jackson if that came to pass. That's bad but I can live with it on some level.

But watching the Colts, Patriots, Chargers or Broncos jump ahead in line and have these great exciting contending teams while we run a HS offense is too much.

The Pats are well ahead of where I expected. I thought they had a shot at the playoffs but at like 10-7. Maybe I underestimated them and their schedule. They look like a good team and have handled business against bad teams. They have a few decent wins as well (Bills and Bucs). They don’t scare me (at all) but the gap has absolutely closed.

The Pats don't look physical at all buddy. maye throws a sweet ball, that's for sure. Your RB last night was running hard!

But a physical team? Not even close.

When you face a physical team you will know it. You haven't yet. We are not physical enough either. Our rematch will be a great game. Hopefully we aren't injured up the wazoo again.

But we are gonna roll the Pats in december. bank it.

Anyone who thinks Josh McDaniels is a joke doesn't really understand football. His ability when he was with Brady to dramatically and successfully shift game schemes based on opponent from week to week over the years is unmatched in recent history.

His resume outside Brady is silly.... I don't know what to tell you. He's not a coach as a hc or oc that anyone takes seriously. Doesn't mean he's a terrible offensive mind.

But yeah he's kind of a joke

He had TERRIBLE quarterbacks. He had Tim Freaking Tebow in Denver, for chrissake. The Raiders 2022 offense was actually pretty good as well (12th in yards, 12th in points, 8th fewest turnovers surrendered), but their defense was awful (26th in yards, 28th in points, 32nd in turnovers forced). Regardless, if you are making an argument based on "blah-blah-blah BRADY" without looking at his scheming success (which should include this season), then I don't know what to tell you. There is not a coach in the NFL who doesn't think McDaniels is an elite OC. Not one.

It was McDaniels idea to draft tebow my guy ... Again he's a joke
