They might, but it’s only because they are due to lose a game they should win and the NFL can be unpredictable.   They are definitely better than the NYJ.

The Jets had -5 yards passing at the half on Sunday. 42 of their 56 total passing yards came on a screen pass. They aren't beating any halfway competent team.

They’ve done as good a job as they can, there’s no disputing that.  

 

But you do get the sense a slip up is coming...based on the fact no run lasts forever, and they’ve really slowed down the past two weeks.  

 

The results as of Sunday should be interesting

He wasn't that good this past week, but it got pretty overlooked because they pulled off a win against a legit team.  

 

Seems to rely on the long ball quite a bit - he definitely has a good one, but it seems like that's something DC's can adjust to over time.  It's hard to tell if he'll have an upward trajectory or if this was just a great stretch.

He's a super talented quarterback I got to watch him in high school and college a good amount 

 

He has all the tools but so do most first round picks 

 

He struggles with his consistency as well when he loses it a bit or gets into a downstretch.. he doesn't bounce back as good 

 

Nobody's going to play it in MVP level forever so yeah how he bounces back from his downstretch is going to show a bunch 

 

Does he come back to pro bowl form or does he come back to an average quarterback

I'm still convinced Maye will be a good, but not great QB. They will need alot of talent around him to ever win a SB. 

 

He can't dink and dunk. He escapes the pocket too quickly. Runs recklessly.

He's certainly better today, than I thought he'd be at this point in his young career.  He's got to be careful running, as you say.  We just saw Dart get concussed and it's obviously a pretty bad one having to miss this weeks game.  Stroud got concussed running two weeks ago, he's still not right.  It's a serious thing.

Watch him and you'll realize he's already as good as Burrow or Herbet, and he's 23 and still on the rise, and he's surrounded by a very good OC & HC as well as improved OL and weapons. NE's schedule has been crazy favorable, but Maye's talent is undeniable and he's in a near perfect situation for success.

I will say this - the first loss was our fault, they didn't out play us, we shot ourselves in the foot.  Allen left a lot of offense on the field, Brady didn't call a good game, and execution was just not there.  Had we played to what this offense is capable of, we win that game by multiple scores.  And after KC, my expectation was to win the next one by multiple scores.

 

But now, NE feels like they are gaining momentum and confidence and Buffalo is Jeckyl and Hyde this year.  One thing for sure is Maye is playing at a very high level and they are well coached.  I still think they are light on talent so they are still a bit overrated, but that is a team that reminds me of the Lions that were coming up under Dan Campbell to where they were on the doorstep of being a legit SB contender.  If NE drafts well this year and makes some good moves in FA, we are going to be in a real battle for the foreseeable future with them for the division.

 

Meanwhile, too many times our team has looked like a rudderless ship out there on both sides of the ball.  The defense has been better with McD taking over the play calling, even though it had some gaffs late against Miami, it more than did enough to win that game through most of the game despite all the pressure put on them by a putrid showing by Allen and the offense.  

 

My biggest concern is how Allens pocket presence, vision, decision making, and footwork have all been key issues in our losses.  I think a lot of that has to do with Brady, Allen doesn't seem comfortable when the game plan is not working or executing.  It almost feels like there are 2 sides of Josh tugging at itself when the offense is sputtering.  Like a part of him that wants to stay on script and another that is trying to go into superman mode, and the battle is affecting his comfort.  Just a thought, but it feels that way at times this season.  

 

Allen is obviously elite, so I have confidence he will get right.  But my bigger concern is Brady, can he make the adjustments to figure this out and help Allen reset a bit and get back to being comfortable and confident back there.

Would be pretty embarrassing for the Bills IF the Patriots beat KC in the postseason on the way to a SB win. They would have accomplished something in one year that the Bills could not in six. 

 

I would be irate as a fan and want everyone out if that happened. And I'm already close to wanting everyone (McBeane, Babich, Brady) out.

They're far better than i thought they would be record-wise, so i should eat some crow for that.  Having a veteran head coach definitely has helped them win more of these close games as the season has worn on - 5-2 in 1 score games.  Only the 1 primetime game so far, the 4th place schedule gets them a few advantageous matchups (NYG vs. PHI for buffalo, LVR vs. KC for buffalo, Tenn vs. Hou for buffalo).
