Bill from NYC Posted October 17, 2025 Posted October 17, 2025 I don't know how many of you have seen this kid play but he has been absolutely great for the Crimson Tide at QB thus far. In his first season as a starter, he has defeated Georgia (on the road), Vanderbilt (who is suddenly a good team) and Missouri (on the road) who used to be, and no longer is an SEC pushover team. This kid is very smart, has a very good arm, great poise and accuracy, and he can both scramble and run. Alabama has a brutal schedule this season. The still have to play Tennessee, LSU, Oklahoma, and Auburn. If Ty continues at this pace they have a chance to win every game. Of course this will not be easy, if at all possible. I think that if the kid does continue at his present pace, he should be in the running for the Heisman Trophy. He (imo) is THAT good. ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 1 Quote

Bill from NYC Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 (edited) People from Alabama tell me that Ty has been suffering a back injury for several weeks. Of course I can't verify this. Some are saying that he may return next season. If he does not, Alabama will be in good shape (imo) if Keelon Russell doesn't transfer out. I really like this kid from what little I have seen. GASabresIUFan Posted January 6 Posted January 6 He and his team got their butts whipped by better teams with better QBs in Stockton and Mendoza in the SEC championship and playoffs. PS in the first game against GA, Bama didn’t score in the 2nd half. Quote

Yes you are correct, however; they scored enough in the first half to defeat Georgia (yet again). This was something that no team was able to do until Ole Miss handled them, so it should count for something. 👍 Quote

Fernando Mendoza is in it obviously, and most expect Dante Moore to be in it but even there is a question mark as there are rumors that Oregon is offering him 7 million dollars for next season to come back for one season. Even if Moore is in the draft, Simpson is the clear # 3 QB in this draft solely because there is literally no one else in his tier. He'll go in the first round just based on desperation of other teams. Next year the Quarterback class is supposed to be much deeper but we'll see a year out and with NIL and Transfer Portal being huge now and college Quarterbacks making huge money. Quote
Bill from NYC Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 (edited) It appears as if Trinidad Chambliss is going to stay at Ole Miss. I think that the kid is great. As for Bama, they have 2 quarterbacks on the roster who both look good: Austin Mack and Keylon Russell. I happen to prefer Russell, who reminds me of Jayden Daniels. Of course he will have to prove himself but he really looks very good imo. As much as I like Simpson and wish great things for him, I'm not terribly unhappy about him having declared. If he stayed, Russell might have hit the portal. He still might, who knows? It's a crazy situation. Edited January 8 by Bill from NYC Quote
Mikie2times Posted January 8 Posted January 8 I think Simpson was dealing with injury issues. At times this year he looked really good. Will be interesting to see where it shakes out. I'm just not as high on Mendoza or even Moore for that matter. Quote
