It's his 4th year and he's played over 250 games and his defensive game just isn't there. His timid style of play is never going to win over this fanbase either. His value would be highest to any team looking for a quarterback for their 1st unit PP. Quote
Jauronimo Posted Wednesday at 04:34 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:34 PM We had two great chances to end it in OT. Kulich got stuffed on a breakaway and we had a 2 on 1 that ended with a bouncing puck or some kind of unforced giveaway. I thought Cbus was lucky to take it to OT based on their first and 3rd goals. They got some nice bounces. Sabres played hard but they need to win those games. Our OT woes continue. I continue to take it day to day with this team in terms of expectations. I can say they are more entertaining and less maddening to watch than they were last year. Seeing growth from Benson, Kulich, and Doan are all reasons for optimism. I want to see more of Ellis in net. 2 1 Quote
jayg Posted Thursday at 02:45 AM Posted Thursday at 02:45 AM And Columbus crushed the Leafs as I root for the Jays.... and I'm a Yankees fan. Sports=weird fun. Quote
QCity Posted Friday at 03:01 AM Posted Friday at 03:01 AM That really was a game they had to win. Maybe it's time to change the thread title back. 1 Quote
QCity Posted 15 hours ago Posted 15 hours ago For those that don't follow hockey closely, Tom Wilson is one of the best fighters in the league and he's considered to be a fierce intimidator. He also happens to be the Caps' best player this year so far, leading them in points. In the past when we played against the Caps it was almost comical (and embarrassing) to watch our young kids shy away from him and essentially piss their pants. Not tonight. Not only did they not shy away from him, it appears they were actively headhunting him all game. Greenway took him on in a fight (a tie-up wrestling dance actually) and got him to take a fighting and misconduct penalty keeping him off the ice for 17 minutes. When he got back they took every opportunity to hit him. I have no idea if this means anything or if it will translate into wins, but I haven't seen a Sabres team with balls this big in a while. 3 2 Quote

The softness in the past was embarrassing. They might be growing up enough to really compete. 3 Quote
