After the 2026 season, the board is going to be nostalgic for:

Not good nostalgia, but 49 years ago today, the blizzard of 77 started. Made any storm we have had since, even the 7 feet in 2014 see like nothing.

Today is also the 35th anniversary of Wide Right. Kinda wild these two infamous WNY events share the same anniversary.

Yes. Crazy time. Off school for almost a week. Snowmobiles were authorized on streets, which was weird to see.

Did anybody go to one of these when they were growing up? Had my 3rd grade Birthday party here, one of my favorite childhood Birthday parties I had

Inserting a $1 or $5 bill into one of them dispenser machines and seeing those tokens dispense was one of the most exhilarating experiences and sounds of my childhood growing up in the 80s.

Friend had at least a 25 ft. drop off behind his house down to a railroad track. The blizzard created a drift out about 10 ft. ground level out over and down to the track. Three of us, under the influence, thought it be fun to walk out on the drift, so we did. Snow buckled, we fell through. It was terrifying, buried like in an avalanche. Struggled to get out like it was life or death. One friend couldn’t get out, couldn’t see him or hear him, we’re frantically digging kind of guessing where he was. Knocked the buzz right out of us. Honestly, it was one forking scary feeling.

Really liked it . Kevin Arnold was my age. He would be 69 this year.  Also, my name is Kevin, my sister is Karen and her husband is Wayne

If the show is on today it would take place between 2006-2012.

I've always wondered why a show didn't come out like this about 2001-2007 this country was so much different to reminisce

When I first joined the site here I bought the whole Box set of it.  Maybe it's time to throw in the DVD of it again

I bought it also, some weird ass bootleg from China or something from eBay. It worked. It has bad art on it and all.

I've downloaded it pirate bay style since. But this, happy days, Andy Griffith, and Twilight zone - I can remember every show.

I mean there was The Goldbergs that was on like 10 or so years ago that was taking place during the 80s.  A similar format too with the narrator being the voice of the youngest character as an adult.   It was all right.  Not as good as the Wonder Years though

The Wonder Years is my favorite show of all-time. Really captured peak Americana. Was a great coming of age series that was set in my parents era but was still 95% relatable to my childhood

The Goldbergs didn't even come close to capturing that same essence in my opinion

Holy crap. That gives me the willies, There was a club down the road from us and when they had plowed the parking lot the piles of snow on the edges was about 10 feet tall. Me and 2 friends dug a 3-room snow fort inside of it. Years later, I thought back on that and if that thing ever collapsed, we were dead.
