I'd take him as a WR #5/6, good blocker, good locker room guy, could play ST if needed. Would have to set the clear expectation that it's not gonna be a starter/captain situation like last time, but he's certainly worthy of being on a roster. Still don't love not having a single plus starter, but our room would be deep:

1. Shakir

2. Coleman

3. Palmer

4. Moore

5. Samuel

6. Davis

I think there’s a 50-50 shot he’s back in Buffalo.

He'd be a good fit for the Mack Hollins role but is he willing to play special teams?

Honestly I hope not. Good dude but I was never a fan of WRS that put up all there stats in 3-4 games

Don't do it Beane

Why? He’s an actual better version of Mack Hollins, good in the locker room, and certainly not good enough to demand a high target share.

He ain’t perfect but no one on the Bills is either.

I think it is a little bit higher than 50-50. Really depends what his market is but coming off a bad injury last year and the timing of this release (i.e. after teams have put together their rosters) the chances are he takes a 1 year, prove-it type deal. The Bills and Beane in particular loved him as a guy and a teammate.

If it's a vet minimum training camp/pre-season deal to compete at WR with the idea that he can take the Mack Hollins role then I really don't see why the Bills wouldn't kick the tires so to speak? BUT is he a willing and capable ST player? Hollins was an ST ace and a very good blocker with some limited "pop" as a WR. Gabe is roughly as good a blocker and a better WR but if Gabe can't at least be a capable ST player (doesn't need to be an "ace" just a contributor) then it is hard to see him being able to make the roster just as a WR 4/5 when there's a crowded field there.

Wouldn't be shocked if the Steelers bring him in. That room is looking a little sparse post Pickens trade and Gabe has balled out against them in the past.

Who is getting cut to have your blocking WR?  They only keep 5

I just can't see Davis willing to come in and be a number 3-6 wr on this roster. How will that help him reset and get another solid deal?
