Ben J is a stud play caller But it's not realistic to think that Pegula would fire McDermott after a 13-4 season. 2 Quote

It was not good timing for us on Ben Johnson. McD can’t win that much for half a decade and fire him. It would be disastrous for Pegula if it backfired. He already blew Wrex and the Sabres perpetually for 15 years. I see his reticence to make drastic hangers to a division winner for 5 years, and if we make it 8 out of 9 years. In the last 20 years, Bears have been to one SuperBowl, conference championship, and a few playoffs. Our 17 years was way worse. This is the 40th Anniversary of their SBXX win... Bills desert 🏜 worse. Way worse. 1 Quote

Yeah - Josh (and the offense) really screwed us last year by never turning the ball over. Johnson was the perfect candidate and we missed out it’s not December yet, so McD still has time to get things right, but the odds are looking stacked against him considering the current health of this roster and lack of a passing game 2 Quote
Generic_Bills_Fan Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I really don’t think Ben Johnson would’ve chosen us over the bears tbh. Up against the cap with one pass catching weapon that’s often injured, a qb on a huge deal, late in the draft order, etc is a tough starting point even if he/the new gm decided to go all in on offense I’m not sure how much they could’ve realistically done here 1 Quote

No coach looking for a job is going to turn down the MVP under center. 1 Quote

Grossman got them to SB and 13-3 record... Yeah... Chicago in 123 years has never had a 30 TD season passer... NOT even Sid Luckman... And probably NOT Caleb Williams this year. Still been to 2 SB's & won one. 1 Quote
GolfandBills Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago He knows offense and how to call plays that’s for sure… Unlike the play caller we have 1 1 Quote
Mikie2times Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Between the altered clapping cadence, JV coordinators, and wood shop glasses we would be lost this year if it weren’t for McD and Co. 1 Quote
Chautauqua Mafia Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I'm SO glad this thread was revived. As I caught a lot of heat about both Ben Johnson AND Caleb. Will you look at that? I was right. AGAIN. 1 Quote

They’ve barely been relevant since that vaunted 85 season and was happy for my corporate buddies based out of Chicago. They went to that one SB against the Colts and were no match for Manning. The Bears also have been mismanaged for so long, for example Lovie Smith wasnt the first coach to get them relevant again and was a double digit team under him and they eventually fire him and fire other coaches ever 2 to maybe 3 years at most. They keep blowing up their team, pick at the top and choose poorly like Trubisky, Fields, etc. They may have finally paid off with all those high picks. The problem with the Bills during the drought is often we’d often finish 7-9 to 8-8, and I think maybe one 9-7 year. We’d never pick outside of a couple of horrible years and when we did, we’d blow it with awful top picks like Mike Williams, and so on. Anyway, my sentiment is just I’m glad to see the Bears show real progress and challenge the Lions, Vikings, and Packers. Good for them. 1 Quote

I agree with you. 1 Quote
EmotionallyUnstable Posted 18 minutes ago Posted 18 minutes ago Could you imagine McDermott ripping his shirt off and leading a team chant like that? If we win the superbowl, he will likely celebrate with a flavored yogurt. 1 Quote
