Captain Caveman Posted November 30 Posted November 30 Does anyone know what the theme is gonna be for the waffle fry battle boats? San Francisco is known for Sourdough, Burritos, and Fish? 1 Quote
leonbus23 Posted November 30 Posted November 30 SF is an amazing food city. I live in The Mission and the mexican food rivals SoCal. Italian food in North Beach, as well, with pizza that rivals Buffalo, e.g. Capo's and Tony's. Cioppino is fantastic and can be found all over the city. All styles of Asian food are here and most of it is delicious. Very few chains and franchises here. About 95% mom pop restaurants. Probably watching at the NorthStar tomorrow and eating sushi after the game. Oh, and San Fran is no more dangerous than any average city. So, stop asking... 2 1 Quote

HIT BY SPIKES Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 I have the 4 live Blue Crabs in the fridge in a big glass bowl and every time I open the fridge I see them trying to escape. LOL!!! NO ESCAPING A BILLS BLOW OUT TOMORROW 2 Quote
HIT BY SPIKES Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 I made fish broth from scratch with a fresh head of King Fish today. Boiled it for a good 8+ hours. Just strained the broth and set aside the fish remains out on the patio to give to the 3 dogs in kennel tomorrow morning. Broth in fridge overnight and I expect to will be a golden jello tomorrow morning unless the live crabs escape and drink it all. I will still add a bottle of clam juice but there was no way I was going to put all that expensive fish in some cheap ass store bought fish broth or worse yet make it from powder. Quote
HIT BY SPIKES Posted December 1 Author Posted December 1 Had a lovely lunch of 4 kinds of steamed dim sum dumplings. Time for a nap with RedZone on before tackling the CIOPPINO. 1 Quote

Simstim Posted December 1 Posted December 1 Well, as someone who ignores being thematically correct, I have made a super spicey chicken thigh chilli dish of my own invention. Which was gorgeous. Tons of hot sauce in there as well as chilli flakes. Devine. 1 Quote

Got some (less then there used to be) great fishmongers here in London. I'll pop over to Steve Hatt's in Islington and pick up the neccessaries. I love me a bouillabaisse, so I imagine I'd love cioppino too 👍 2 Quote
