Game Tickets ????????

Does anyone have some good insight to get discounted tickets?  Wait till game and get whatever's left?  Military discount? Teacher discount?  Friend with season tickets?  anything?

We're taking our son, 6yo, to Buffalo for his first NFL game against Miami on Oct 1st.  Can't find anything less than $200 and nothing in the lower bowl sideline under $350.

Get the Gametime app. It's very good, although prices are going to be high, but you can wait it out until the day of the game and prices usually drop.

I’ve always wondered if you could get cheap tickets on StubHub or SeatGeek the morning of the game at a good discount.  Anyone ever do this?  There must be tickets still available and sellers wanting to get something for their tickets.

I did not scroll through 4 pages to see if @boyst has chimed in, but I’m tagging him because this method of buying tickets is something I know he’s experienced in.

Wait until 30 minutes before kickoff and you will see the ticket prices start to plummet.

You can get club tickets for cheap if you wait until after kickoff (just stand by the gate and refresh your phone).

I would think at that point they would be willing to sell them for $1. Better to make something versus making nothing.

@Johnny Hammersticks

I have bought all sorts of tickets within 24 hours of events on StubHub and TM. I've not gone to gametime yet but used a few others besides those two. I've drove to CLT to see Fleetwood Mac and bought tickets 3rd row walking in the parking lot for $100.  I knew I was going to go just a matter of where I'd sit. The tickets are always there...

My method is I set a desire to go, weigh that against a price im willing to pay, and a place I want to sit. I refuse to sit beyond a baseball throw to any event. I'd rather not go at that point.

Another option is looking at ticketmaster events and live nation events...at amphitheatres specifically... There are generally last minute tickets available if you look at the app under ticket upgrades. These are resell tickets and safety stock numbers kept by the event that they release a few hours before the event. I saw Chicago (they sucked) with REO Speedwagon (they rocked) for $49 per ticket @ 2nd row.  I bought $9 outfield passes on SH. Then used the upgrade feature. If you're ballsy and there is a pit you buy a single upgrade to the pit and use that. I did this for the Pixies w/Weezer.

JJust know you may get stuck buying nosebleeds. I do this for NFL games too, the trick there can be buying a 3 pack within the last day where someone drops their tickets as a 3 pack. I buy them, use 2 and sell the one single dirt cheap to mitigate the hit a little. But it can be cheaper.  The window to steal a deal on sports events is smaller than concerts and other events.

Thanks guggies

$238/ticket. Also, it’s sec 401 row 2 not row 8 like I accidentally put in my original post!

Yikes

I know someone who works for the Rams so we went to the opener last year more or less for free. Guess I’m gonna have to find someone who works for the Chargers. 😉

Great point. December games will be a lot cheaper.

Currently looks like the Denver game and the Tampa Game are the least expensive on secondary sites.

Have you been to a game in the last few years?

Well I only went to 4 regular season games last year including a playoff game

and I took the NFTA bus for the playoff game and there were at least 5 people on the bus without tickets … and they all got tickets within the last hour or so before kickoff…

and they got them way cheaper than I did buying them instantly

and I never bought from the scalpers but I assume they still do it even tho it’s digital and they will always take something before kickoff

You give them money and they transfer it to your phone… I don’t see how going digital would change big time scalpers who have blocks of tickets And don’t want to pay fees to Ticketmaster

The game of scalping/resale has changed dramatically in the last 15 years. I have been scalping tickets to games since 76, and man what a difference.

Day of game tickets were always cheaper, especially around 11;30 on a Sunday home game . Used to be the price of a single was always dramatically lower on a per ticket basis , that is no more and i cant explain it.

But to your question, resale tickets for Bills game the Saturday before will be a good 25-30% less than they are today. Will they be cheap? No. Will they drop dramatically at  12:30 for a 1PM game? Answer still no, at least in Buffalo. Cant explain that one either. I think the sheer number of folks who go to the tailgate with no tickets is well known, and especially before December...folks get liquored up in the lot and spend to get in even when they said they were just there for the tailgate unles they got cheap seats.

In the end, waiting to the Saturday before the game will result in the cheaper tickets than today 9 out of 10 times.

I am gunna be selling mine for those games as well, for out of towners like me those are just brutal times. Makes sense they are the lowest. If someone wants them, hit me up. Section 135, row 22, on the aisle.

I didn't have a ticket for the AFC Championship game against the Joe Montana led Chiefs, back in the '90's. I was milling around the Stadium after kickoff, and a Gentleman behind the 12 ft. chain link gates, swings a gate open, and says: "What you all doin' out there"???????

I stood for the entire game at the top of the upper deck, in the corner, but I still got to witness Bruce Smith delivering the 'Hammer', to Joe Montana!

I never left my seat for the Comeback game, except when it got really, really crazy, in the fourth quarter.

We just got through paying $9 for non-free range, unstressed, de-caged, fed a vegan diet, soothed with a bedtime story nightly, chicken eggs. And the news says we're getting "cheap" gas at the moment because it's expected to get back to $4 a gallon on the east coast by summer. So yep, the prices are going to be at least an arm and not quite a leg this season.

Back in the 80s, I'd roam the bus lot and there was always some drunk from the night before who missed the ride and the group leader would be stuck with a ticket or two or three.  They would gladly hand them over to me for $5...they figured what the heck, they were already paid for...it was the knuckleheads' who overslept problem.

the mobile ticket only has just crushed scalping outside..Damn, i mean that was a job for some folks  pre mobile ticket. The two dudes that were always on Lower Terrace before every Sabre  game at the Aud prolly put their kids through college working the scalping market...but what a great service they provided, and ya trusted them as valued vendors!

What’s stopping scalpers

From taking cash… And just transferring the tickets Via phone

I don’t see the difference between having 30 tickets On mobile or physical .., Someone comes up asks if you have tickets

You say yes… Take money and transfer tickets

I have two tickets in Club section 237, row 2, for most games (plan on going to LVR and Dallas at least, and probably a divisional game).  Currently have them listed on StubHub but happy to sell them outside of that to avoid the fees.  Send me a message if you are interested!

Number one reason is no one goes to the game anymore with extra tickets. so there is just zero supply..they have all been sold on the secondary, so from a scalpers perspective the service fees are what he used to make...scalper would need to go to secondary first , buy tickets in hopes it goes up enough to cover services fees.

Then there is fraud. People were selling 30 screen shots of bar coded tickets....not so much an issue with new system, but it was a reason people stop buying mobile tickets at the stadium 5 years ago.

Then Ticketmaster and Stub get squirrely when you start to do multiple transfers ...

Yeah I’ve never been big into to the scalping

But growing up with season tickets with my father… Having them on my own as an adult

And just being around the bills my entire life… I never really thought why digital would kill the scalpers… I thought scalpers would buy 30 seats of seasons and just hang out and sell them throughout the Morning

I took the NFTA bus to the playoff game versus the dolphins

There was about a group of 7 to 10 from New York City… Who had no tickets before the game… and they were asking me if they would be able to pick them up

and I thought they would … and they did … but they went through Ticketmaster and still got cheaper tickets than me
