My music love has always been a work in progress. At one time i only liked rock and i hated all country music, Elvis, folk, bluegrass, electronica, hip hop, rap, etc etc,....now i love all of that except old old country but i appreciate old old country as it is the Genesis of the modern stuff that is pretty good. It's not really it's own type of music for anime exactly. There are songs written specify for certain anime shows but the J-Pop and J-Rock genre have been around since the 90s. It's just a "new to me" thing. Mostly influenced by American and European pop/rock culture. The whole pop/rock being sung in a different language usually has it's own negative feeling toward it also. But in the end, you like what you like so I wont knock you if you dont. I still have trouble listening to normal radio in the US because I just don't get the appeal of some of the stuff that is the "new thing".
