It’s simply a hole upon which they poured concrete steps. The lower bowl has no structure beneath it. It’s essentially an outdoor amphitheater sitting on native, compacted soil. So…is it easier? Maybe…but it’d be easier if the UPPER deck was on a steel skeleton like is true at the new stadium, but it’s instead concrete beams with concrete decking so it’s most likely going to put up one heck of a fight. Make sense? What are they going to do with all the busted concrete and rebar? Just bulldoze it into the lower bowl and cover it in dirt and asphalt? Quote

I think it was described above how they will fill the hole. The C&D debris will probably be taken offsite (and sold as clean fill by whoever takes it 🤣). 1 Quote

The landscape guy just buried the stump with fill dirt. Out of sight, out of mind, right? Starting last year I'm getting sink holes in the yard where the stumps were as they have rotted away. I know it's not the same thing as that but it made me think of it. Quote

Same kind of thing with C&D, except it’s the large pieces that create voids that allow settling, as opposed to decomposition creating voids. Quote
WotAGuy Posted May 9 Posted May 9 You can tell the people that didn’t have to squint at the original dot matrix scoreboard that was one of the first to show replays. And get off my lawn while yer at it. 2 Quote

The game is on the field, and those are perfectly gigantic to read when you want a replay Exactly. Why do you want a huge board when you’re at the game and are watching on the field? It’s plenty big enough to show replays and anything else you want to see. Quote

Also, that wasn't the original scoreboard/videoboard at Rich Stadium. The original one was black and white and could show replays...sort of. By the time I saw it it was terrible and it was replaced by the Lite-Brite scoreboard. 2 3 1 Quote

Crazy to think I was watching games on a 19” B&W tv back then. Edited May 10 by WotAGuy Quote

Not a full scoreboard view, but this is what it was like—when (almost) all of the bulbs were working, which was not often. Maybe they'd consider bringing these guys back for the home opener in the new stadium... Edited May 10 by Rubes 2 1 Quote
