Just Jack Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Saw a video from Sunday (May 3rd) of the new stadium that included shots of the old one, and they had not started demolition yet, so it must have started today. This video is from a few days earlier... 1 1 Quote
eball Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Sorry, I just keep thinking it. The memories of games are great but that old stadium was a s-h-I-t-hole. We just didn’t know any better because it was all we had. I can’t wait for this season and the future. 1 1 Quote

You can have a lot of fun there because you're not worried about wrecking the carpet or the couch. When you get a nicer place everything calms down immediately. 3 2 2 Quote

Yes, I definitely can see that analogy for some. If the new, nicer stadium means fewer stupid-drunk idiots throwing up and pissing everywhere that’s a win in my book! 1 Quote
PonyBoy Posted May 5 Posted May 5 It's amazing how much more pronounced the new one is above ground than the old one, let alone the size difference. Quote

Wait until you are walking in the concourse either to get something to eat or drink or go to the bathroom and you have the Bills game on TV, so you don't miss any of the action and other large screens that show the red zone of other games. It's a nice perk to have. MetLife which 17 or 18 years old now has it. I would imagine the new Highmark will as well. Quote

The concourse area is supposed to be wide open at the new stadium so you can actually see out onto the field when you are running out to grab a drink or hit the head etc..I think that is one of the coolest features in the new stadium 1 Quote
The Firebaugh Kid Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I just saw some video of them starting the demolition on Facebook. If that doesn’t make you sad 😔 1 Quote
yall Posted May 5 Posted May 5 I'm going on Thursday to pick up some seats from the old stadium for a friend. Looking forward to seeing the demolition progress in person. 2 Quote
Gregg Posted May 5 Posted May 5 One of my memories of the old Highmark was a game against the Jets. It was the game where Bruce hit Esiason so hard he was out cold for a while and suffered a concussion. Bills won the game in blowout. Quote

Yeah that was one advantage of a sunken stadium - the walk to the upper deck was not strenuous. I couldn't believe how long it took to get to the upper deck of the Texans stadium. It took longer to make one trip up than it would have taken in an entire season at the Ralph. Alternatively, there were 3 sets of very tall escalators that could take you up but the lines were very long, and you had to get off each one and then get in line for the next one). 1 Quote
TFBillsfan Posted May 5 Posted May 5 Theoretically, demolition of the old stadium shouldn’t take that long. That gives them almost 4 months to complete the demo before the season starts. Quote

Finding a stair well is the only way to go, if you're able. That crawl down the ramp at NRG is just brutal. 30 minutes of soaking in all the jeers and taunts from Texans fans who have gotten way more obnoxious over the years. 1 1 Quote

It’s not like you can just knock it over or blow it up. Quote
