I am the egg man
Ed had a good run here in Buffalo during a good era of local TV news. WGR, WBEN and WKBW went at it for the last 1/3 of the 20th century.
I am leaving for good
2 hours ago, Kiva said: If you’re defending the new stadium design, you have zero credibility. The new design is just terrible and cheap. Ed Kilgore has a right to his own opinion but it doesn’t make it any more than anyone else’s. I will add he once worked for PSE so consider the source. And I like Ed Kilgore but he was never going to really question anything basically a company man and I understand why it was part of the job without being said. Remember all these sportscasters worked in news and the sports team media so there is conflict there. Examples Van Miller Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Braves, Rick Azar the Buffalo Bills and Ed Kilgore with the Buffalo Sabres before PSE ownership and PSE after he left WGRZ television. Again I liked all of them there is nothing they did wrong just saying that there is conflict there. I guess I find it questionable that our political and business leadership choose the same path as 1970’s. When they say well we aren’t going to get a Super Bowl game. I agree with that. What I don’t agree with is location, no dome and that UB can’t use it for free as a state public university that right there is an embarrassment to Western New York and one example why this area will never change. Western New York don’t try to fail. If Western New York fails, Western New York fails what is worse is not trying. I question that New York State didn’t demand 7 Saturday’s for UB Bulls football 6 home games and one for hosting a possible MAC bowl free or if there ever a Power 5 program an extra home date for a potential 7 home game schedule no rent at all for our public state university like Temple University has because the state of Pennsylvania. State of Pennsylvania it was part of the Philadelphia Eagles deal or the Philadelphia Eagles can hit the road the Eagles took the stadium deal with the state. New York State and Erie County failed 100 percent the taxpayers. The Buffalo Bills saying UB Bulls can use it for rent and free no rent because they are our public university is two different things. Ok so it is more with the new Bills stadium than just a dome or location it’s our leadership failing to protect this area. The Minnesota Vikings have the Minnesota Golden Gophers baseball team playing in the new Minnesota Vikings stadium. New York State taxpayers should demand our state university doesn’t pay a dime in rent to the Buffalo Bills for the new Bills stadium because we the taxpayers funded the stadium and are maintaining security for that stadium. The Buffalo Bills are garbage for that you can be a Bills fan and not like the Bills for their business practices. You know why UB Bulls football doesn’t play Highmark Stadium anymore after the Bowling Green Falcons game? The Buffalo Bills gave UB Bulls a huge rent bill. The Buffalo Bills are billing our state university. There is your CBA community benefits agreement nothing but phony political propaganda nonsense. Ok this area should be ashamed with the state that the State University of New York at Buffalo and we are playing in a high school football stadium. I hear Buffalo Bills fans saying Buffalo is on their way up? How? Corrupt New Jersey even has Rutgers in the Big Ten Conference. Corrupt New York State forget about it. Face it our business and political leaders and media don’t give a care about the future generations of this Western New York area. I am saying it isn’t for me I am 55 years old and frankly don’t care anymore what people think about my opinion. I am telling it like it is look at the FBS football schools UB Stadium sucks. So New York State sold Western New York out no doubt about it. It is more than just dome or location it’s not even trying to protect the taxpayers or really ever trying to benefiting Western New York more than it already is with the New Bills Stadium. I want fans to think long and hard. Keeping UB Bulls the way it is forever doesn’t protect future Western New York generations where they someday have a choice if the NFL doesn’t want Buffalo someday. Right now if that happens we are out of luck because there is no way Power 5 Conference is ever taking UB Bulls with UB Stadium that is never happening. Again maybe we get lucky both the Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Bulls are going for national championships one can dream. Oh I forgot we can’t do that in Western New York that is only for other areas we should accept our area like this forever the same never improving. San Diego protected there taxpayers with Snap Dragon Stadium. San Diego State Aztecs are about to join the PAC 12. Along with San Diego MLS soccer expansion. That is why San Diego is the beautiful city and Buffalo is well we are what we are. I am saying leaders aren’t protecting future Western New York generations the Buffalo Bills have 18 more years in Buffalo than a lot of maybe with the Bills in total control because our leaders sold out taxpayers. 7 open dates for UB Bulls football rent free would have at least tried to make the effort to be better try to fail instead of just oh well we suck let’s keep on failing doing the same thing over and over. It really is sad so no I don’t care for the new Buffalo Bills stadium deal. New York State and Erie County got nothing from the Buffalo Bills same old Buffalo it never changes and some people love that which is fine. But don’t seem surprised when others say wow we aren’t happening it is getting worse not better the new Bills stadium is a testament to this never really improving our area to any greatness in my opinion. UB Horns Up! Go Bulls! Go Bills! Let’s Go Buffalo
Wacka
Wonder if he has ANY hair left. He had a hairpiece when he came to Buffalo. I worked at a Denny's in the late 70s and he came in not long after he started. He had a pretty big bald spot already. I remember him reporting on the Sabres in one of his first sportscasts. He's talking about the French Connection and Rene Robert: (pronounced it Reenee Robert" (like the man's name)).😀
Nephilim17
I was going to jokingly say, "wow, Ed has aged," thinking the old dude was someone Ed was interviewing.

In this video he talks about Ralph Wilson barging into the officials locker room after a devastating loss to Miami in the 1970’s. Ed deliberately baited Ralph into making a public comment trashing the officials. Ralph later said his fine was “the new money I’ve ever spent.” That was really neat, thanks for posting. My wife does not look like that picture anymore but going from a buyer who was always meeting customers to someone sewing at home and doing gardening was a big change. No need for her to wear makeup for many years. She also had to live with me. I can beat that. And don't even want to b on upping... Friend of mine became friend of ours. He always toed the appropriate/inappropriate line. He has my mother in law on his Facebook, of course because why not... Dude saw a few photos of my wife 10 years ago and left a few comments that he has to meet my wife's sister.... Like, not just a few. And even tagged her like woah. This was taken to the dial of 12 when he messaged me like "bro you gotta introduce me to Jennifer's sister." In defense of... Possibly the only excuse... They were her with makeup and dressed stylish vs workout attire or scrubs. It was really awkward for us for a while but to him he was completely unaware of the impact and probably still is... It honestly doesn't bother me either. If he had my wife then she would eat him alive.. 🤣
Drew5580
I got a little too tipsy and left my truck at my bar and ordered an Uber to pick it up the next day and he was my driver. He was a nice guy from my conversation with him. He said he was just doing it to get out of the house and stay active.
TC in St. Louis
I like Ed. I'm glad he's still involved in some way. I'm 68 now. A lot of people tell me I don't look it. I'm afraid one day I'll wake up and look like an old dude. It happens.
