Im convinced its coaching (Chiefs showing how to handle Bengals)

Dont want to get a ban for comparing our team to the teams playing in the GDT so I am putting it here.  Im totally convinced its coaching.  KC its killing that Oline.  Their players arent better than ours.  Jones is a beast but really nobodies outside of that.  The difference is how they actually play the receivers tight and not 10 yards off and back up at the snap.  Burrow cant throw quick because it aint there for free.

Same story on offense. Allen may not be Mahomes but he is elite.  Their offensive design and coaching is second to none.  I feel like Dorsey is just backyard football.  A lot of people say "Josh wont take the underneath stuff."  I believe he would if he was coached to and the plays were designed to.

Gotta agree.  Between zero pressure and loose coverage, we made it just too easy for Burrow.

For the offensive side, look at how clean Kansas City pocket is most plays. It's just not even comparable on that front, so not only coaching on that side.

Overall though the play calling is on another level with KC, that is true

agreed, i'm screaming that KC is doing everything that i screamed we should have been doing last week.

We are doomed with the McDermott/Frazier defensive philosophy/the money we spent oin the D and the non existent offensive philosophy/the lack of talent acroos the board on O and no money to improve.

how can we be so far over the cap and have needs everywhere. who are all these sh!tty players sucking up cap? (rhetorical question, i know i can google it and name our center, middle linebacker, half the D line, half the o line and all our special team specialists who don't matter when push comes to shove but all make $5MM plus )

Not totally sure about that one. I remember his HC in college complaining because Allen wasn’t throwing to the intended receiver. Allen’s response was something like “Brett Favre throws TDs, coach.” For all we know Dorsey is encouraging Allen to take the short stuff, but Josh isn’t doing it. Since none of us are in these meetings we can only speculate either way.

this game seems to provide a lot of support for this view.

Can I agree and disagree at the same time?  We were to injured on defense to play what we set out to play this season.  I have to think if we had a healthy Miller, Phillips, Jones, Hyde, Poyer and White we would have been much more competitive.  On offense Dorsey is still learning but I agree we have to learn to take some easy high percentage stuff and run the ball and not just try to block it up and throw deep all the time.

Well, I'd say there are multiple differences.  There's a thread about physical toughness, and that stands out, too.  But I think you're right.  Neither the defensive nor offensive coaching is creative enough.

I have a gym area in my house .. and I’m not even lying when I say that 1st Q of Bengals/Chiefs forced me to get up and lift weights.

I was around some people and visibly angry watching KC’s Defense … sheesh…

Its coaching.  It’s always been coaching.

Spags steps up in the Playoffs, and typically has less talent to work with than us.

Mahomes on one ankle is a better thrower of the football over the middle than Allen.  You can see that in just one Qtr and over his career.

As i’ve said before,  Allen is the better all around football player, but Mahomes is a better QB.

Well he aint going to do it when they send 4 deep and only leave the dump off back, I know that. They can easily scheme short passes.  He took them in the first couple games. He worked and did all intermediate stuff the year before last.  Dude can and will if he is coached and schemed to IMO.

All 4 teams today have great OL play.

Beane needs to realize his priorities are wrong or be shown the door.

I agree.  Nice job building a team culture and getting the ship turned around, but I have serious doubts about our coordinators moving forward.  I have very little excitement about 2023 with Dorsey and Frazier running the show.  At least Dorsey is young, so maybe he digs through thousands of hours of film of successful, innovative offenses over the next few months and starts to incorporate that into his system and playcalling.  What you see is what you get with Frazier at this point.
