Phins are going to have one year of regression. Miami does not have the LBS and the S's for what he runs... and they wont be able to draft to adjust in one year

Not to mention Tua will probably have to retire during the season after getting another concussion.

Fangio denied the report and said "nothing has been finalized" and now there is speculation he is heading to the 49ers instead. His longtime GF is a prominent eye surgeon there.

Now that Ryans is officially becoming the Texans' coach, I won't be the least bit surprised if Fangio is announced as the new DC of the 49ers imminently.

I think that is the Domino he was waiting on, and why he didn't agree to terms with the Dolphins. Apparently, Fangio and Shanahan are very close.

Why is that?

Wtf has Sean McDermott done here ?

His in game coaching decisions are nothing short of pathetic.

Our offense has regressed and our defense stinks (he’s a defensive guy.)

We have already gotten passed by keeping a defensive minded clown who cost this team a Super Bowl last year by 13 seconds.

Defend him. Please.

weird how high he’s ranked for in game win probability for being so “pathetic” at it…

What has he done here? Really?

-he holds the best all-time winning percentage of any coach in Bills history

-He broke a 17 year playoff drought his first season here.

-Helped tear down and rebuilt this team from the ground up.

-Built one of the best cultures in the NFL (according to the players).

-Has only missed the playoffs once in 6 seasons and that was because it was year 1 of the rebuild.

-He’s won the division 3 years in a row. In his 6 seasons here, he’s finished 1st in the division 3x, finished 2nd twice and 3rd once.

-His defense have consistently ranked in the top of the league since he was hired, including being #1, #2 and #3. They’ve statistically been a top 6 defense every year but 1 (2020).

-His offense have consistently ranked near the top of the NFL since 2020.

-He put together the staff that drafted and developed Josh Allen.

-He’s won 10 or more games in 4 of his 6 seasons here and won 13 games twice. The only time he ever finished without a winning record was the rebuild year.

The Bills have started out the past 4 season with a 4-1 or better record.

What other Bills head coach has accomplished more since the super bowl era began? Marv Levy maybe? McDermott has a better record but no Super Bowls. Levy had way more talent to work with though.

McDermott may not have made it past the AFC championship game yet. But the only reason we are even a contender is because of what he put together here. It’s amazing how much our standards have been raised to even be able to say something like “what has McDermott done here?”…

Great post. No one is FORCED to support McD as HC, but likewise NO ONE can deny McD's record (and team stats and analytics, including actual in-game coaching prowess) since taking over.

A lot like Daboll did in NY/NJ this season, McD earned some credibility with that somewhat fluky playoff appearance in 2017. Both guys have demonstrable leadership chops.

Now we will see if McD can truly continue to reflect/self-scout and grow in new ways, in a climate that absolutely DEMANDS INNOVATION of schemes married with optimization of roster traits/utilization.

2023 will tell us a lot, innit?

So the drafting of Josh Allen and departure of Tom Brady has nothing to do with it?

Beat up on horrible afc east teams and choked crucial games to cost us #1 seeds (jax and jets.)

Folded like a table in playoff games.

Emphasis on defense and his defense isn’t even good. Gets shredded by good QB’s and bailed out by a star QB in Allen.

Again, we could coach Josh Allen to 10+ wins.

Give me a freakin break…He’s Doug Collins.

You’re acting like Josh Allen came into the NFL as a super star QB and has been one McDermott’s entire time in Buffalo (he hasn’t). You’re also acting like the defense has been trash his whole time here (it hasn’t).

You said “wtf has McDermott done here” and “defense him please”.

i think I gave a pretty good defense.

Our division has not been trash either. In McDermott’s 6 seasons in Buffalo the Patriots have gone 13-3, 12-4, 11-5, 10-6, 9-8 and 8-9 (so, 1 losing season). The dolphins have won 10, 9 and 9 games the last 3 seasons. The Jets have been mediocre. Overall, The AFC East has not been near the worst division for a while. They are somewhere between the middle and top.

You also seem to be failing to mention some pretty great playoff wins and just focusing on the few rough losses (and only a couple were bad performances).

I’m not saying we shouldn’t question McDermott but acting like he’s terrible is s little extreme. By any measure he’s been one of the better coaches in the NFL for a while now.

Ok, let me ask this - were you so down on McDermott before this year’s playoffs? Were you calling him garbage and saying he should be fired when he finished the season 13-3?

Id trade all of that for 1 Super Bowl.

Dont care about the regular season victories.
