What do you freaking people not understand about a dome having nothing to do with the game moving.

Good grief.

Exactly. This is basically like if I a hurricane moved a saints game or Miami game. It’s a weather emergency.

Imagine if people were saying “should built a stronger dome” when the Saints gave up an entire season of home games after Katrina. It’s such a ridiculous take it’s not even worth discussing

Was flying into BUF w family for the game. Just changed airline tix to DTW.   I’m not that familiar w Detroit.  Anyone have a recommendation for a good area / hotel to stay?  And good restaurant for Saturday night?

I've stayed in Detroit a number of times for Tigers games and always try to get a place in Greektown...the Atheneum was always a nice hotel.  Fishbones is a great restaurant and there are plenty of other options in the area along with the casino.  It is an easy walk to the stadium as well, only half a mile right down the road.

who cares what people on twitter think?

twitter is garbage now (not that it really wasn't before) with the take over by that twit musk who I have read set ultimatums for employees and a shitload resigned because of it. the moron musk has just let the trolls loose on that platform. social media for the most part has been a place for some people to hide behind and spread their sick demented trash talk run wild.

as you said, who cares what the twits on twitter think...

I thought the forecast is for no snow on Sunday.... none

it's the storm before Sunday that will be hazardous. no one would be able to get in to OP.

LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST SUNDAY.

WHERE...Northern Erie and Genesee counties. WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Sunday.

Heavy snow will fall in relatively narrow bands. If traveling, be prepared for rapidly changing road conditions and visibilities.

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND WILL AFFECT PARTS OF CHAUTAUQUA... CATTARAUGUS...SOUTHERN ERIE...WYOMING...GENESEE...AND NORTHERN ERIE COUNTIES... HAZARDS...A lake effect snow band which can rapidly reduce visibility to less than a quarter of a mile. This lake effect snow band is producing extremely heavy snow at the rate of 2 to 3 inches per hour.

SAFETY INFO... Use extra caution if you must travel into or through this lake effect snow band. Rapid changes in visibility and potentially slick roads may lead to accidents. The snow will accumulate so rapidly that it will be extremely difficult for the road crews to keep the roads clear.

Weather Alerts-Buffalo, NY

Even if they had a dome, it would still be moved to another venue or rescheduled to a later date. So Sunday's forecast means nothing. it is what the weather will bring leading up to Sunday.

Orchard Park is getting hit pretty hard by the band this morning.  Again,, how are these guys all supposed to get to practice?  the Browns have an advantage in that regard as their Fri-Sat won’t be as disrupted.

I know Beane wanted to maintain the normal routine of flying out Saturday.  i think they should’ve left yesterday as soon as the announcement was made.

NEWSFLASH: Both teams came into that game with identical records.  Cleveland still missed the playoffs too!

It wasn't the snow.

Cleveland went 2-1 last 3 games and still didn't get in at 10-6. Bills lost out last three games.  That game meant squat to Bills...

It wasnt the snow........yeah the snow had no effect on the gameplay at all. LOL....Ok

I'm a bit further East and it looks like we are avoiding most of this storm. It was my understanding the heavy snow was falling Thursday to Saturday. Has Erie County put on a travel ban? How much actual snow are you folks getting versus forecasts?

Not sure why you replied to me about a dome?

Have a great day

I'm not sure either. 😕 wasn't quite through my first cup.

"I thought the forecast is for no snow on Sunday.... none" led me to show that "none" on Sunday doesn't mean the area surrounding the stadium leading up to Sunday is safe. I'm relying on the weather link I posted giving details of the storm and it's impact. my guess is the snow accumulation leading up to Sunday is what is going to cause problems with travel and obviously why they made the decision to move to Detroit.

snow accumulation will vary in certain areas.

Heavy lake effect snow.

Total snow accumulations of 2 to 4 feet in the most persistent lake snows. The greatest risk of the highest totals will be from South Buffalo to Lancaster. The heaviest snow is expected through Friday night when snowfall rates could exceed 3 inches per hour. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph will produce patchy blowing snow.

yes, there is a travel ban.

ERIE COUNTY Travel bans and advisories issued for parts of WNY

wasn't trying to pester you, just passing on information. you have a great day, as well.

I use Twitter as a news/sports feed or a source of humor.  Nothing more.  My follows are primarily related to Buffalo and UNC sports.  Anyone who thinks the “opinions” of regular people on Twitter represent anything other than the fringe of society is kidding himself.

Greektown/ Bricktown/ Waterfront all good options (all next to each other).

You want to stay in the 75/ 375 loop. All those neighborhoods are in that loop, as if Ford Field.

Safe (relatively), lots of good food options, lots of hotels, the casino etc.

If you like deep dish pizza, Detroit does a good job of it IMO.

I can agree, like everywhere else, there are good folks on that platform but it has increasingly got worse in recent years and especially since that moron musk took it over. in my opinion, it will only get worse.

PizzaPapalis in Greektown was a post-game staple, but sadly they didn't survive the pandemic.  So sad seeing great establishments just disappear.  Wanted to take my kid for steak at Ditka's when we were in Chicago a few weeks ago and they shut their doors as well.  If Ditka's can't make it in Chicago who the hell can??

I rarely publish an original tweet, because (a) who the hell cares what I think; and (b) why would I want to invite the s-h-i-t-t-y responses that will flow from anyone who does respond?  I’ll @ a reporter once in a while and have actually had some good exchanges, but even those get fouled up by morons.

I had a counter argument pop in my head if you want to debate the “it’s just snow” people.  It’s like when they close schools because of storms.  It’s not that they can’t teach because everything is indoors, it’s getting kids and staff there safely.
