the other 40 or so players wouldn't benefit from practice ?

certainly the backup QB would......maybe a batting the ball down drill for some DB's ? ....i could go on...

i mean, you wanna give the guys a day off....just say it.......to blame 5 guys with the flu is lame

They're still practicing, it's just not a normal practice.

The Bills have a ton of players sick. McDermott said illness, but said non COVID. Today they’ll only be able to practice with individual drills because they don’t have enough bodies to run a normal practice.

I hope the team has greater intelligence than some of the fan base and get flu shots.

Bruce Smith missed a playoff game because he did not get one.

Ah yes, the age where everyone is now a  medical expert and tells others what they should do with their body.

On brand for this squad.  And I'm not making a political or pro-vax statement, should that be the case re COVID being the issue.

If the Bills, injury issues aside, can show up each week, then the chances of a SB win increase.  If the team isn't on the same page, then it's yet another year and another grueling outcome.

I like to think that in the future, the narrative will be "remember that wild season where everything seemed to be falling apart at times, but we still got that 1st Lombardi?  That was crazy!"

That was the story LAST season.   7-6 in December but with the league's best defense and by far the largest point differential........and they looked like the best team in football after a couple months and then again after the WC weekend.

Maybe this team is just an updated version of the Schottenheimer/Norv Turner Chargers?   In 2010 under Turner the Chargers had the top statistical offense AND defense in football..........and somehow missed the playoffs at 9-7.   Multiple 12-14 win seasons......loaded rosters.......excellent stats........no rings.   True story.

Let's hope not but it's easy to forget that there have been teams who have astonishingly underperformed realistic championship expectations for seasons on end like that and never even reached a SB.

It's not just going to work out for these Bills.........they gotta' make it happen.
