And as each game passes, the more I think he should be our coach. McDermott was a huge upgrade from his predecessor and exactly what we needed then, but we all know who he is by now and his short-comings. Below is Sean Payton’s analysis of the infamous 13 seconds and he’s 100% right. Do you honestly believe anything will be different in the future with the same people making these decisions? People focusing on a rookie OC aren’t seeing the big picture. Situational football: Buffalo up three on Kansas City with 13 seconds left and kicking off “A lot of it depends on my kicker. If I’ve got a young kicker I’m not sure I can trust, I will not squib kick. You can’t risk the kick going out of bounds, or being recovered at the 40. I also don’t like trying a pop-up kick to land at the eight- or 10-yard line. I’m not asking a kicker to use a technique, seldom-used, to place a kick somewhere that might determine whether you go to the championship game. I’m probably just kicking the ball deep into the end zone and giving them the ball at the 25, like Buffalo did. The crime that is committed comes after that. We are playing football still—you can’t be defending the sidelines at all costs, like Buffalo was. You see when Travis Kelce catches that long pass to put them in field-goal range, a cornerback is defending an area of the field near the sidelines he doesn’t need to defend. Kansas City’s got two timeouts left—they don’t need to get out of bounds. Everything about what Buffalo did defensively is flawed. We would play outside man technique with a three-man rush, funneling balls to the middle of the field and contesting outside technique.” 13 seconds is simply inexcusable, but if someone’s gonna pull that kind of miracle it’s going to be the Chiefs. Why don’t we let McDermott finish off the season though?

This is 100% an off-season move. My point is don’t be surprised when we’re talking about the next “13 seconds” type sequence…oh wait we already are haha
Bubba Gump
I'd replace McD with Reich. I think an offensive minded, ex-QB would be good for Josh. And I'd keep Dorsey. I think Reich could settle him down a little as well.
BillMafia716ix
Way too soon. He’ll at least get the rest of this season and next season before changes are made but so far I have not been pleased with how he’s running the offense. TBBills Fan
Doing that right bow would be as dumb as benching your starting QB for the playoffs for a guy with 1 start in a meaningless game.... Doc Brown
Right now we're #1 in yards per game and #2 in points per game. Anybody calling for Dorsey's firing right now is insane.

NoName
Heading into the last week's game we had the number one ranked offense in the league. Right now we have the number 2 ranked offense. I don't know many teams calling for the firing of a first time o.c. with the #1 or #2 ranked offense halfway through the season. I dont think we were #1 or #2 at any point during Daboll's tenure....not sure about that part though.

Much better game and Josh seemed better in control. much work to be done, but Dorsey was nearly a UDFA as far as OC go LOL he needs a season to figure it out On 11/16/2022 at 6:54 PM, I am the egg man said: …..69 brain surgeons and counting….. How the hell do you count that far ? Looks exhausting.
SoMAn
Yes. The Bills could use more experience right now. Dorsey has shown little creativity. The Bills deserve better than on the job training for the OC position.
