All he does is produce when he is out there and is a difference maker. I would argue Josh has also but we are paying him huge money and he has cost us many games in his career due to mistakes. Tredavious has been mediocre and injured. Von has been good but not great. Dion Fawkins is average at best. It’s so bad that we’re all sitting at home constantly hoping he’ll be the one to make a play because none of the other guys on the DL seem good enough to do it. I shudder to think what the defense would look like without Von. He and Daquan Jones are the only starters on defense not to miss time due to injury. Edmunds was really active in that first half, more than I had ever remember seeing him really, but he alone wouldn’t have stopped the 2nd half Viking surge. Allen is gutting it out with a bad elbow, Milano with an oblique, Poyer played with a collapsed lung all while White sits and watches. Its total BS. Guy should’ve brought us to the AFC championship 2 years in a row if not for a the biggest defensive collapse in recent memory. But no one is talking about Von. I thought today was a very typical game for him. He did NOTHING for the entire game, then came through with a BIG sack late in the game. Then he went back to being invisible again until the game ended. He is almost always one-on-one with the right tackle, and not drawing a double team. He's not helping out other guys on the line by sucking up multiple defenders. He rarely gets pressure if you watch him--he either beats that RT for a sack, or he gets handled right out of the play. The money spent on him is almost entirely a waste, IMO, in terms of translating MONEY PAID to WINS ON THE FIELD.
