Safety was not the best option in that situation. You turn a 4 point game into a 2 point game and give them the ball with 0:44 and one timeout, needing only a field goal for the win.

The best option was a Tua-style slant to Diggs for 5 yards. Safe throw, quick throw, minimal chance for disaster, with the upside of: if you complete it, you win the game (one time out and two kneels). The only result that is a disaster is a turnover. Even the QB sneak had a slightly greater risk (but still very minimal) for what happened. It's a ridiculously low percentage, you would not factor failing to execute the center-QB exchange into your decision because it's the most basic of basics, and is roughly the same nil risk whether a sneak or run or pass. Unless someone completely chokes.

Which, they did

I do think we need some balance here. We put up 30 points. Josh looked far more like himself in a positive sense today than he did in the hellhole of next week. He threw two gatbage interceptions plus had a horrible fumble (though the playcall was horrendous there) but he also made some fantastic plays as well. Would I say he was absolute garbage this week? Probably not. Not at his best and cost us the game but not absolute garbage.

If we simply execute after the defense won the game … that’s a vintage Allen game.  He played really well.  Only pick was on a 4th down throw he had to let go or turn over on downs anyway.

However, the fumble and game ending pick invokes shades of Tennessee/Simmons last year and the issue that was glaring obvious against GB and NYJ.

Those two plays, justifiably so, tanked his game performance.

I mean, why not take the intentional safety after running out 10 or so seconds?

That error cost the game

Anyone that thinks the right move was to take an intentional safety should just stop talking football.

There is zero case for taking an intentional safety there.

Really hope we can land OBJ. The Bills get zero production out the slot. The loss of Cole Beasley is really hurting us. He was Josh’s security blanket

OBJ is not coming to Buffalo. Buffalo may have been the favorite but he will probably go to Dallas. No state tax and closer to his home.

Though even after the fumble, his drive down the field also felt like typical Josh in a good way and what elite QBs should be doing. Then the offensive series before the pick was good Josh as well. But every play at the moment just feels like a screw up is round the corner.

Same mindset of the people that just say “we’ll be back” when you lose in the playoffs. People were probably thinking at in 99. You never know if or when you’ll be back. Keep pissing away chances at having home field advantage. You aren’t going to KC in the playoffs and winning. That’s why these losses matter

Dorsey is showing how green he is.  I would suggest to bring in a former OC (Frank) to help him with the game plans and play calls.  Whatever adjustments he has done, at halftime, in the past three games has done squat.   He abandons the run too quickly.  Singletary had a solid day.   When a head burn some clock.  The short pass game disappeared.  This team has the talent to score in the 30s.  The defense has crashed to earth.   Frazier should be gone after this season.   I have seen his defenses come up short in pressure situations.

Let’s see what Jim Kelly is up to.  Maybe bring in Bruce Smith to run the defense too 🙄

Just get in the playoffs and wins 3 or 4 in a row. This team is highly capable of doing that.

Interesting logic.

It's almost like you're saying losing in November doesn't make making the playoffs harder.

You realize we're third in the Division now, right?
