Probably a little of both. Never thought I'd be missing Daboll so much. Dorsey's inexperienced is evident.

People downplay the importance of being there before.

Daboll has seen it all.

5 Super Bowl rings and 1 college national championship ring. Worked under the greatest NFL coach and greatest college coach.

In short, he's been there before and imo provided some much needed calm to a guy who runs a bit hot

^This.

A three score lead at home in the second half.  You gotta run a little bit and you have to put the game away.

The game turned for the offense in the second half, 2nd and 2 at the 12 (red zone). We passed three straight times.  The FG was there and those points were needed even though it remains a 3 score game.  The fourth down pass was an interception in the end zone.

Fast forward to OT.  1st and 10 at the 20 (red zone).  Great time to run 26 who had 2 TDs and ran well in the first half and force the defense to think about the run.  Three passes to the end zone, interception.

We are abymsal in close games this year.

I agree 100%. I was screaming to kick the FG. Also, did anyone notice on the play before or maybe the INT play to end the game the field shot of the Viking defense. My son said wow dad the Viking are daring you guys to run. The middle of the field is wide open.

McDermott needs to take control of the play calling on this defense and if we are going down, it needs to be with his hands In the batter. Enough of this passive aggressive shell bull####. Start making QBs uncomfortable. And no matter how hard it is or how much it going against the grain, we need to run the ball. It doesn’t matter what it looks like and it doesn’t matter what people in the media think. Stop getting dominated at the point of attack and get some balance in your offense. This ***** is not going to cut it. Sitting back hoping 4 guys are going to get home against 5 and 6 blockers isn’t working. Doing very predictable things on defense and just getting bailed out by excellent safety play isn’t available. This scheme is too simple. No QB looks uncomfortable against us. Unless we are turning people over, we aren’t making stops. The defense is soft, the offense is incredibly soft. Enough of this bull *****. Every 3rd down these guys have all day to stand and deliver a ball. On 3rd and 15+, you shouldn’t even have time to throw a ball far enough. Blitz for Christ sakes.

We can turn that around as we face both at home. But we need to sharpen up.

I believe the problem with Bills is very fixable.  Easy on the gloom and doom and hyper reactions.  All they need to do is figure out their red zone game because they're getting the ball there in like 2 seconds but then it all goes hairy from there.   Just for some dropped passes in long situations that swing the momentum.  Key holding penalty on 4th down game Cousins another shot to tie the game and that he did.  Can't happen. You had them off the field.  Honestly they did not ever deserve the opportunity to tie because Davis dropped that ball on the sidelines on that diving catch.  They got a break like that and still managed to find a way to fug it all up.

If you take a safety 4th quarter, You win this game.

If our CB's would understand situational football and knock the ball down instead of trying to intercept the ball on Jefferson's 4th down catch.

We win this game.  Bad coaching all over the field and bad decision making.

You can't take a safety there because there's 0:44 and you will only lead by 2 and handing the ball back with 1 timeout. The odds are not in the Bills favor in that situation.

This is not a problem if you take the points on 4th and 2 as we were clamoring for before the INT, you would then be leading by 5 and a TD is required.

Even factoring that in, the odds of a fumble on the snap in that situation is preposterously small, and isn't really much different between sneaking it, handing it off, or play-actioning for a dagger shot to effectively end the game by giving the space to kneel twice.

Dorsey is like having Allen's emotional clone at OC.

There isn't a crazy play or a gamble they don't love. When it works, great, but when it doesn't it looks like this

They've got to get this under control. They lost to two divisional teams. They are 3rd in the division and look like they can't compete with Miami and Jets.

If you're really 'win at all costs' then start taking the easy stuff. The offense moves when they do that, but with Dorsey it's too easy for him and Allen to go for the big play... and keep trying it.

Offenses need to move the ball then take a shot.. not take shots until it's 3rd down then throw a 10 yard or less play.

This is the love/hate relationship that you get with a new off coordinator, who is still learning how to call plays with a lead.

And, the delicate balance of how aggressive Josh Allen should be.

1st half: establish an average to above average run game, spread ball around on to multiple targets, play smart/execute in redzone

2nd half: abandon run game with double digit lead, put more on Josh's shoulders, turn the ball over multiple times....

It's a frustrating brand of football when our team should be winning these games. Josh will get this figured out, just frustrating for now.

Yeah it’s called running the ball. Stop taking Cook out constantly and block the ***** up. Put Gilliam in the backfield and block something. Stop relying on the pass constantly

Use Hynes! He's great in space! What the heck is Dorsey doing?
